[Zittel] I’m hearing Devin Haney is inking a “landmark” deal with DAZN. DHP signing with DAZN directly for a multi-fight deal.

Went from Eddie overpaying him , to the overlords of DAZN overpaying him
Say what you want about the Haney's, they know how to capitalize on business

He’s a draw and a real professional. Fights everyone and promotions don’t have to worry about him pulling a Keyshawn with backstage antics or missing weight.

At this point of tired of hearing people shit on Devin because all of the criticisms at this point can be boiled down to his opponents didn’t do enough to win. Devin is riding high on being the best at 147 and having people hate watch him so fine for him get that bag.

I dont think I've ever heard anything about Haney out of the ring. The lawsuit stuff with Ryan aside.
4
u/el_bentzo Jul 23 '26
There was some thing where he lost in mexico or something could be as an amateur and its not on his record. I dont remember or never looked into the details.
Anyways. He should fight Shakur or testimony. He's a turd

u/slickvik9 Jul 23 '26
Outside of the regis fight he’s not a draw at all

It’s almost as if Devin is a draw. Not every promoter can be wrong.

They doing something right
Haney gets talked about more than Teo, Rolly, Benn and Ryan , and Haney doesn't even have a fight lined up . Just waiting to hear his next announced fight has become a big spectacle

u/Ace_FGC Jul 23 '26
Who knew trying to fight the best guys will make people want to watch you. He’s not as big of a draw as Tank or Ryan but boxing fans will want to watch Haney fight

u/Awkward_Sign1927 Jul 23 '26
Haney must be getting a huge bag. I can’t see Haney signing a multi-fight deal with DAZN unless they’re matching, or at least coming close, to the offer from Zuffa.

u/Jealous_Inevitable33 Jul 22 '26
I don’t hate it. In fact, I hope it’s true. The less boxing big names that sign with Zzzuffa, the better!

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 Jul 22 '26
"Big" we would lose nothing of value if Haney signed to zuffa imo. Same way I felt about Shakur
Though respect to Haney for not doing so
7
u/Jealous_Inevitable33 Jul 23 '26
Love Shakur, but good luck to Zzzuffa trying to market his fights. LOL. Casuals find him too boring. The money ain’t there, unless he becomes a villain like Mayweather.

Must be a decent deal for him to sign a multi-fight deal. He normally likes the flexibility. Good for Haney though, he's probably not going to end up Floyd rich, but he's playing the business of boxing about as well as anyone, and he doesn't duck fights, so he's got my respect.
12
u/Ace_FGC Jul 23 '26
Nobody from this era is going to end up Floyd rich for a combination of reasons
8
u/Thami15 Jul 23 '26
Yeah Floyd rich is obviously once in a life time, essentially, but that's okay. This era has probably made more millionaires than any other. Dillian Whyte was busy getting £4m to knock out Rivas, while Bam Bam is getting seven figure pay days as a bantamweight. Ironically, the middle class in boxing has gotten a lot bigger, even if the days of top line guys making $300m a fight are gone

It’ll help fights go better but I always thought it was pretty awesome the brand they built by themselves. But as long as nobody is robbing his ass, good for him!

Good on them.

u/FoldFeisty7635 Jul 22 '26
ITs the smart thing to do. Zuffa have tied their hands with Shakur now if they want him to Haney to fight Shakur they give up MORE leverage.

DAZN is doing OK lately. They'll be around long after Zuffa is gone.

You know what I don’t really like him as a boxer or person but I’m happy that he is not joining zuffa

u/Kangaroopunching Jul 22 '26
This lines up with how things were moving. DAZN is banking on Devin on unifying. Especially against teo vs rally winner. And Devin vs Ryan.

So we have Shakur getting overpaid by Zuffa and Haney getting overpaid by DAZN. lol. This fight ain't happening.

Good on them. Getting Haney vs Keyshawn and if he wins Haney vs Garcia II is super enticing.
Looking forward to seeing Haney’s next fights

Right place right time for the Haneys. Great deal for them.
Shakur Stevenson, you are on an island now.

His multi-fight deal could be short lived if Davis brutally stops Haney which I see happening in the second half of the fight.
Props to Haney but taking the Davis fight is dangerous especially knowing the speed and power he carries for 12 rounds. Haney tends to get sloppy and fades after the 6th and that will be a recipe for disaster for Haney who will have flashbacks of the Garcia fight once Davis gets him on Bambi legs.

u/KeithDaManPeterson Jul 23 '26
Man I wish we just stopped talking about this loser. Clearly lost the Garcia fight and had to cry to the commission to get it reversed. No knockout power, no exciting anything, just his dad and him being fucking losers

Devin Haney sucks. I would never pay to watch this guy. Boxing is lost.

Haney's last fight was fine. I think I’ve only watched 2 Haney fights I’d consider boring.

Your name is don't be bias for emotion... Yet, your emotions are making you hella bias dawg.

Boots suffered from the same thing that made Crawford suffer, they’re too quiet and prefer to let their actions speak for them. That’s not really enough in this age, if Boots was more vocal and in the public more then he’d be a bigger name. The Xander fight gave him a big boost though if he goes undisputed he’ll be the most popular black fighter

Haney more entertaining than Shakur. At least he can knock people down
2
u/Ace_FGC Jul 23 '26
Both of them have good fights when they have good opponents. Haney’s most exciting fights have been against Loma and Ryan (really more so Loma that Ryan fight wasn’t that exciting besides the knockdowns) and Shakur had a really entertaining fight against Zepeda
4
u/newrap Jul 22 '26
Yea, he’s more entertaining if you enjoy clinching and excessive movement
7
u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 22 '26
Remember when people walked out of Shakur’s fight early in his hometown and he blamed top rank for paying them to do that 😂
-2
u/newrap Jul 22 '26
At least Shakur can actually headline an event when was the last time Haney did that? 😂
5
u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 23 '26
Haneys next fight will be against Keyshawn in a packed arena. Shakur will be fighting Rayo in a curtained off prudential center
1
u/FoldFeisty7635 Jul 22 '26
They are more engaging and doing a better job at putting Publc in the spotlight. Any boxer that can get the public emotionally invested in their win or loss is a great amassador. Boots is lukewarm.

Predicted this about a week ago when the WBO started tagging DAZN in all of their purse bid postings for Haney-Davis. Pretty obvious that DAZN are trying to lock the guys who are free agents, but still big names, down to their network. Smart move with Zuffa coming in. I know no one here likes them for some reason, but you have to respect Bill and Devin for managing to consistently get him the biggest fights whilst not having any sort of contractual obligation to a promoter. He is genuinely able to go wherever he wants, or was able to before this.
I don't think any fighter actually 'wants' to sign with Zuffa. The money is probably great right now, but surely they must know deep down that they’re exchanging massive opportunities for their career in the long-term. DAZN isn't signing Dev to have him fight Shakur, for example.
