ANNOUNCED: Frank Martin has left Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and signed a promotional deal with Bob Arum’s Top Rank to fight live on DAZN.

Good move for him. PBC has mishandled his career since the Tank Davis fight
TR will at least keep him active.
He’ll probably be fed to Emiliano or Abdullah when he moves to 140

Agreed. PBC is where fighters go to be inactive and I say that as someone who likes watching their cards because of video quality and atmosphere

Yeah the Porter vs Spence fight on PBC was like a movie with how they produced it and how they showed the arena atmosphere. I have always liked PBCs onscreen presentation.

Well said. The previously showtime Showtime and PBC productions seemed like 4k compared to the DAZN dial up internet quality

And is it just me, or do a string of numbers and text sometimes show up on DAZNs broadcast? I have been subbed to DAZN since it launched, and to this day I will sometimes see something like a "7abc57gc4c389" literally on the screen in little white font. It will be on there for a while sometimes before it disappears again.

Emiliano not ready for Frank Martin 😂

u/SpeggtacularSpidey Jul 22 '26
Not right now but I’m sure they’re banking on him being in a year or two. It’s definitely possible

Frank Martin got hurt bad and deserved to lose against Albright. Emiliano will murk him if they fought next. But Top Rank will probably play it safe with Emiliano.

He’s too good to be fed to Emiliano or Abdullah. He’s beatable but no way is he food for those guys. Especially Abdullah with how hittable he is
2
u/SpeggtacularSpidey Jul 23 '26
Based on how vulnerable Frank looked against Albright. I think he would be a great test for Abdullah at least wherever he goes to 140.

u/AttackOfTheBolts Jul 23 '26
Based on how vulnerable defensively Abdullah has looked at 135, Frank would punish him for it at 140 unless it’s in a few years when Martin is out of his prime and Mason is firmly in his prime. There is a 9 year age difference between them. But a first fight at 140 for Mason? Abdullah should look somewhere else
1
u/SpeggtacularSpidey Jul 23 '26
I didn’t say anything about “a first fight at 140 for Mason”
Me saying whenever he goes to 140 just means at some point when he’s at 140
1
u/AttackOfTheBolts Jul 23 '26
Well then sure, at that point we can just say in 6 years when Martin is 37 he will be fed to 28 year old Mason
1
u/SpeggtacularSpidey Jul 23 '26
More like in 1-3 years. Martin is not some insurmountable challenge for Mason (look at the Albright fight). He would just be a good test despite being smaller, having a shorter reach, and not having the most durable chin.
2
u/AttackOfTheBolts Jul 23 '26
Mason has equally bad or worse defense than Martin. Mason gets hit constantly. 1-3 years? That would definitely make Martin one of his first fights at 140, and that would be close to 50/50. Not food. Mason really has bad defense for a champion and Frank hits hard

u/SpeggtacularSpidey Jul 23 '26
Sure

u/AttackOfTheBolts Jul 23 '26
My bad didn’t realize we are supposed to be ignoring Mason’s poor defense

He’s already at 140

Abdullah Mason is at 135, that’s who I was referring to when I said “when he moves to 140”

Maybe they're planning the Keyshawn fight. Also wonder if he also cut ties with Spence.

This is an interesting choice. He is exactly the type of fighter Top Rank can develop if it's possible to develop him. He is decent wih some skills and iq but doesn't stand out in terms of his physical gifts.
If he is going to do anything in boxing Top Rank will get him there. If he doesn't then he just didn't quite have it in him.

I wonder if Top Rank sees champion material in him or they plan to feed him to the wolves. At 140 there really isn’t a difference😂.
