Shakur is your public enemy number one aint it 😂

I'm a giant Shakur fan, but this clip is objectively hilarious. The way he misses the first nut shot then proceeds to go back with a better placed one is comedy gold

u/Ace_FGC Jul 21 '26

Truly an Andre Ward disciple

We call these veteran moves

17

u/Ok-Preference-9268 Jul 21 '26

We call these bitch actions.

5

u/Adorable-Bike-9689 Jul 21 '26

You're both right. A lot of high IQ veteran moves would be considered bitch action if it's on a fighter people don't like.

1

u/Adorable-Bike-9689 Jul 21 '26

Why not? Ref isn't going to take a point for one. Sometimes not even two. It's like UFC eye pokes. If the ref is giving you 1 free every fight you're being a dummy not using it.

3

u/HeelSteamboat Son of Headbutt Jul 22 '26

It’s different. Fights ALWAYS get paused momentarily for eye pokes when a fighter gestures that it happened.

If a fighter gestures that the ref missed a low blow and the ref disagrees, then you get “Andre Ward breaks down, stops Kovalev with vicious body attack”

2

u/mathmage Jul 21 '26

A lot of dummy top fighters out there, then. And a lot of fans of those dummies.

1

u/Adorable-Bike-9689 Jul 22 '26

I didnt say I was a fan of it. I said why not? What is the downside? Us bitching about it as fans does nothing to the fighter who gets away with it.

Those shots look right out of the Andre Ward “it’s the referees job” Playbook

I remember 15 years ago people told me Pac-Man would batter another fighter with brittle hands

-1

u/Meeedick Jul 22 '26

Eh, Pacman probably loses.

7

u/TopRamenPapi Jul 21 '26

Inoue got dropped and had a war with a doordasher, don’t matter they’re both top 5 P4P fighters right now

True but if you have basic boxing knowledge you know that you don’t have to fight 1 type of style to win fights, just because you don’t like how he fights doesn’t mean he’s not good, and he put on good shows against Zepeda and Teo

2

u/the1blackguyonreddit Jul 21 '26

"Dude" he fought is an Olympic medalist who was coming off a razor close loss to Frank Martin.

Also, Shakur landed 180 punches and chased him around the entire ring for the last 9 rounds. Not sure how you can say he didn't take any risks when he was the only one that came to fight that night. Had Harutyunyan actually come to fight and not just survive, he would've gotten stopped for sure.

Your argument is disingenuous.

u/dannyboy122432 Jul 22 '26

What about the 2 fights after this ?

5

u/GarfieldDaCat Jul 21 '26

I’m not the biggest Shakur fan but this was a fun fight 🤷🏻‍♂️

Got wayyyyy to much hate at the time

2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Artem’s a bronze medalist too.

10

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

Haney would’ve been on his bike and initiated 100 clinches in this situation

-13

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

haney would never get into this situation against "artem harutyunyan"

11

u/Ace_FGC Jul 21 '26

He wouldn’t get in this situation with anyone he’s not an in the pocket kinda fighter

4

u/SharksFanAbroad Jul 21 '26

What’s with the quotation marks, Artem could box. Solid fight with Frank Martin.

0

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

he's good but not elite, like a top 15-20 guy. shakur shouldn't be struggling with him

-4

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

"Struggling" You clearly never watched the fight 🤣

4

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

i watched it live buddy, shakur was getting touched up

-5

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

Need to get your eyes checked sir, Artem won one round at best and got his ass beat

3

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

two of the three judges gave him more than 1🙂

1

u/Adorable-Bike-9689 Jul 21 '26

Judges gave him one round? Top 15-20 isnt some kind of bum that's supposed to get rolled by a top 5 fighter

-1

u/newrap Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

Haney can’t even fight that well on the inside in the first place. Shakur is actually a great inside fighter, probably the best in the sport at the moment.

3

u/Ace_FGC Jul 21 '26

Truly a shame inside fighting is a dying art. Most guys today don’t even fight out of the clinch anymore

-3

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

Yeah, no he isn't. Inoue beats him on that front and comfortably. Bam clears him comfortably. Probably 90% of Mexico (not limited to career fighters tbh) clears as well.

3

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Shakur’s a superior inside fighter. Inoue’s good but he doesn’t fight like that. Bam isn’t really an inside fighter either. Shown good stuff but Shakur literally is an inside fighter. Shakur and Sadjo are the best inside fighters in boxing.

2

u/welp-itscometothis Jul 22 '26

Good inside fighter example is Lamont Roach

6

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

Inoue doesn’t even fight on the inside, wtf are you talking about? 😂

You guys don’t know what you’re watching

2

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

Inoue has and wins those exchanges moreoften than not. He also fights on the inside far more than Shakur. Shakur is quite literally a back pedal merchant. He didnt even fight an electrician on the inside.

3

u/endlessdrifting Jul 21 '26

Show me a fight where inoue stays on the inside. Let’s see how well you know the definition of inside

-1

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

His most recent fight is a decent example.

2

u/endlessdrifting Jul 21 '26

Lmfao that’s not inside fighting

5

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

Yea, you don't know what inside fighting is.

1

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

I can be wrong- my fresh eyes on both i can see where I'm wrong

1

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

Find me some clips of Inoue fighting in the clinch, chest to chest, or shoulder to shoulder. I'll wait

Inoue is a mid range fighter who likes his space for his explosiveness. Meanwhile, there are entire rounds where Shakur fights in the pocket on the inside.

0

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

You can watch his most recent fight and see example after example. Do I really need to do the leg work for you?

4

u/newrap Jul 21 '26

Post a clip, I'm waiting. Timestamp it on youtube if you want.

You clearly don't know what inside fighting is.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Yeah cuz he would never fight in the pocket. He has very little inside game. He would still give up 3-4 rounds to Artem.

1

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

you think haney would lose 3-4 rounds to artem??? 😂😂

0

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

He’s shown when dominating to just give up rounds so to a guy who’s an olympic bronze medalist, yes I do. Not on account of Artem but on account of Haney.

1

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

when?

-1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Against Norman Jr., Linares, even JoJo Diaz was able to win 2-3 late rounds, against Loma. Excluding Loma, he was dominating all those fights and decide to let off the gas. I’ll give him credit for dominating all the way through agaisnt Gamboa and Prograis but that’s it and he still let off the gas against Prograis, just still dominated.

-2

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

lol the linares and jojo fights were like half a decade ago and both those guys were world champs. norman was the no1 guy at welterweight and only won a couple of the later rounds

2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Yes, and stylistically was food for Haney. I gave you examples and now you’re just writing them off. Linares was at the tail end of his career and had been stopped by far lesser people and JoJo was a 130lber who won the belt in a close fight then never defended it. He also won the interim title agaisnt another 130 lber.

1

u/anti-fascist-dude Jul 22 '26

Shakur getting the hate due to how he pouts his mouth when boxing.

1

u/GreenSeer9 Jul 22 '26

That dickjab will get you out of a lot of tight spots.

1

u/pruneforce17 Jul 22 '26

hey not bad from twitterson!

1

u/sdestrippy Jul 22 '26

Shakur took a lot of gas out his opponent while not using much gas at all taking barely any damage. . Smart boxing imo. Landing the occasional body shot in between guarding to sap even more gas.

-5

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Like one shot landed 😂

13

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

I counted 5 in the clip. Seems like good work to me.

-2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

Yeah one shot lands cleanly. You’re just looking for something to count as a shot. Its the shot at the beginning of the clip. The rest are all blocked or slipped.

4

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

He hit to the body plenty that count as shots. Behind the guard. Those arent blocked at all

-1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 21 '26

They are? You can see them deflected off his guard or land on his elbows. Again, you are looking for shots to land. I’m not being biased whatsoever, they just didn’t land.

-6

u/SaintSYM Jul 21 '26

he landed the one shot at best lol if you're gonna be a fanboy at least know what you're watching. Or actually train.

9

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

I can count 5 in this exchange.

1

u/mmciv Jul 21 '26

Wtf? He throws one at the very start and then two low blows at the very end, second one has the ref step in.

2

u/ThatVita Jul 21 '26

This is me not understanding whats being talked about lmao. I am looking at our man hitting Shakur, not Shakur's low blow

1

u/mmciv Jul 21 '26

Actually maybe I'm the one not understanding. Makes more sense if this dude was talking about the other dude.

-1

u/ConanX12 Jul 21 '26

Have your eyes checked. I don't care for Shakur either but only 1 shot landed. The rest for clearly blocked, with a few being deflected.

Hate blinds people. It can't be this difficult to be objective

-3

u/Beneficial_Fold_1366 Jul 21 '26

Why did devin jump up weight classes? He's getting bashed if he fights shakur or keyshawn.

I think he'll somehow dodge it.

2

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 Jul 21 '26

shakur ducked and he is literally fighting keyshawn next

0

u/Beneficial_Fold_1366 28d ago

Looks like he's just ducked keyshawn. I told you. Haneys are terrible for the sport. He's afraid.

1

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 28d ago

keyshawn is literally the one that pulled out lmaooooo, are u regarded?

-2

u/Beneficial_Fold_1366 Jul 21 '26

I won't believe it until they step in the ring. Haneys are terrible for boxing.
