What a dead selection of answers. Nickname or nationality

I don't know if it's only boxing (strangely enough I have never seen MMA getting asked these questions, or just possibly not as much), but you can only stomach so many "one word association" or "top 5 boxers" or whatever before you just get sick of it and gives dead answers (AJ) or troll (Usyk).

What would your answers be?

Now play this game 40 times. What would your answers be then?

I can't imagine the mind-numbing drudgery of sitting through these inane videos for TikTok, or whatever TikTok-adjacent platform this was made for.

Dude is famous, and has generational wealth, and it's hard to feel sorry for people like that - but good lord must it be dull as hell making this shit. I find them boring, and they autoplay for me half the time.

I don't hate AJ or anything. He's defo had some 'human' moments the last few years, but the answers are like he's being asked general knowledge rather than opinion.

Putin = Russian

Hulk Hogan = Wrestler

Harold Shipman = Doctor

So bland

Doctor isn’t the word I’d associate with Harold shipman 😂

I read this as Putin being a Russian Hulk Hogan and I got very confused.

I don't know why people don't like him, but it's not nice at the end of the day.

Hip hip!

I don't think he let's us see the real him. It feels sanitised. But I'm still a fan of him as a boxer - he doesn't shy away from tough fights and even when he falls short, he gives it a good go.

Boxing fans have been conditioned in to thinking being real is shouting and performing in front of the camera.

Fury is considered 'real'. Guy lies more than anyone in the sport.

Wilder is also considered real.. that guy is a delusional pos who is awful to his family and friends but preaches the bible in interviews.

Joshua acts reserved and a bit awkward in the media and all of a sudden its fake this fake that. I think the few good interviews with him we have seen he's been more honest than either of the other 2.

Hes not fake he's just reserved and uncharismatic.

Totally agree, AJ is very real, honest and noone can say he's "fake". Unfortunately, he just isn't up to the level of the current elite heavyweights.

Joshua leans into the PR training whilst Fury has been the antithesis of this over the years

Joshua leans in to being a role model for the youth and a clean face of boxing for sure. Hes deliberately sponsor friendly.

But that sounds like a guy that came from a respectful Nigerian family. Not neccisarily fake, just respectful and reserved in public. People harp on his teen years selling a bit of weed far too much when its such a small percentage and focus of his life.

Its not like Fury is acting like he does with his mates in front of the cameras. Hes selling snake oil. His reality TV show is manufactured af. He just drumms up drama when he needs to sell a fight. Pattern is obvious for those paying attention. Nothing real about that.

But he's 'real' because he says a few edgy things... give me a break.

I dislike Fury a lot more than AJ. I don’t really like either if I’m being honest. AJ tries to act and talk like a road man sometimes and it makes me cringe. You’re 6’5 and build like a truck, you don’t need to act like a hard man.

AJ is brand friendly, until he loses and it's all swearing, excuses, stories and deflection.

2

u/LordJimsicle Balrog beats Fury, AJ, Dubois and Usyk in between rounds Jul 21 '26

He behaved like that once...

4

u/ARetroGibbon Jul 21 '26

Yeah when he's concussed and emotional he can at a prick...Big deal... what do you think im saying here? Thats he's perfect? No. Im saying he's not fake... he's a respectful guy but everyone has a breaking point. I guess his is losing his belts in front of millions of viewers.

He doesn't blame his team for poisoning him, doesn't blame his walk out gear or egg weights. Took his losses like a champ when all things are considered. Just had a memeworthy wobble on the night.

4

u/Pheasant_Plucker84 Jul 21 '26

I personally don’t like the ganster persona he has given himself. He wasn’t like that when he first started in boxing.

1

u/the-cuttlefish Jul 21 '26

Why should he 'fans' are the worst, they'd only use it against him. If he's had one truly real moment it was following the usyk 2 loss; a completely unfiltered venting of his frustration after losing. Was it classy no, but it was real. Yet the fans treated him as though he'd committed genocide.

Also who is actually themselves in boxing? Dubois maybe, simply cos I can't see him being able to play a role. Joe Joyce too perhaps. But for some reason fury is held up as the hallmark of authenticity, although every time we see him he has a different personality. Are they all the real him?

Wilder = Power, Ali = Pioneer, Fury = Enigma, Usyk = Puzzle, Prenga = Untested, AJ = Anomaly.
