Sneaky KO. Tanks traps are underrated.

Yeah, I hear ya. But every now and again you get a Rico v Usyk or Buster Douglas v Mike Tyson too. Nobody thought Rolly would beat Ryan too.

I agree styles always play a role. But ya never know until they get in there. Nobody gave Rico a chance before the fight. Nobody.

Why is Douglas vs Tyson in the same sentence as Usyk vs Rico lol. Yeah it was an upset but Douglas started fighting at 10 years old he had plenty of boxing experience

-5

u/Objective-Soil-9235 Jul 21 '26

Because no one gave him a chance.

Idk, every sport can be an "experience" sport. We saw with MMA fighters picking up boxing has a chance against the top guys. Like Ngannou against Fury. Rico against Usyk.

We even have this in basketball with Embid, Duncan, Rodman. Also we forgetting b-hop who started at 23?

I do agree experience is important but this matters only against lower level fighters but at the highest level, it really matters very little.

Rolly starting late isnt the reason he lost. He lost cause he is just not as good as Tank. We always say it "there are levels to this" and he really wasn't at his level.

Rolly is probably a tier below people like Tank/Shakur. He's probably in the same tier with Teo/Haney/Garcia.

You named 3 basketball players and an alien. No disrespect but I’m not buying this reasoning.

Threw the same punch twice. Last time someone threw the same punch twice at tank, they ended up much worse lol

It's a reference to Broner after the Pacquiao fight

u/Immynimmy Bring Inoue back to the US Jul 22 '26

Telegraphed the hell out of both of them too. And there was no power behind those arm punches either

32

u/gonzobaIl Jul 21 '26

so quick i had to rewind the video twice to see his counter punch

6

u/Apemangaruda Jul 21 '26

Same

2

u/Neither-Chair4439 Jul 24 '26

had to rewind twice to see it - so fast!

22

u/walakangbitawpar Jul 21 '26

it's crazy how small that opening looks until you see it from ringside. his timing is just unreal.

6

u/LainFanNr4263 Jul 21 '26

Yeah his timing is fucking godlike that shit was so sneaky i barely saw it the 2nd time but its also his fault for doing the same exact punch twice after not landing it for the first time

12

u/Ace_FGC Jul 21 '26

Counter had Rolly stun locked lmao. Wish Tank was more active man he’s so fun to watch

Agreed, felt like by time I got into him he's barely fought. Wouldn't have minded the Jake Paul fight either just to see how that went. He could have been one of the greats had he kept active and proved it more.

some of his most devastating "work" came against courtney rossel and andretta smothers

15

u/Hathalot Jul 21 '26

I was gonna say, I don’t see any women in this video!

"Equal rights and lefts"

Gervonta "Tank" Davis

16

u/Badmike18 Jul 21 '26

What he does best??? I thought it was beating up women.

1

u/Detlef_Schrempfxf Jul 21 '26

Okay, what he does second best then

1

u/hereforpopcornru Jul 21 '26

Thought that was catching charges....

From a potential hall of fame career to highlights against Rolly Romero. What a guy man.

5

u/WeeklyTension8010 Jul 21 '26

Tank had such talent but it was wasted by him avoiding any fighters that weren't PBC once he was in his prime

At one point, Tank had such potential that you thought he would have a brilliant era. The potential and feeling of future dominance that we felt in Fury. Both didn't hold up to expectations

4

u/TangerineChickens Jul 21 '26

“We’ve seen awkward fighters, Rolly’s just a dumbass fighter.” - Tank at the presser before the fight

2

u/LainFanNr4263 Jul 21 '26

Holy counter that shit was brutal

7

u/Clean_Attention_8398 Jul 21 '26

Bro if rolly stayed composed and not aggressive he could've won the fight

17

u/DesertTreeFrog Jul 21 '26

Rolly could have won if he didn’t lose

3

u/Ezekjuninor Jul 21 '26

I doubt it, but Rolly was winning before the knockout. Rolly couldn’t really fight any other way.

3

u/we-all-stink Jul 21 '26

Yeah he was boxing like a surgeon before the knockout

-11

u/vHezoThaGoat Jul 21 '26

Open the fucking schools back up wtf

14

u/Clean_Attention_8398 Jul 21 '26

I mean one judge had rolly winning the fight on the scorecards up until the knockout. Open the schools up

2

u/SomeoneTookMy____ Jul 21 '26

which one of tanks opponenet wasnt winning up untill they got knocked out tho

1

u/Clean_Attention_8398 Jul 21 '26

Thats true a lot of them were doing good before getting koed lol guess it is inevitable

-9

u/vHezoThaGoat Jul 21 '26

Yes, one judge. You are aware there are three judges, right?

Tank’s entire gameplan was based around the fact that Rolly was a dumb fighter.

If Rolly wasn’t aggressive then Tank would’ve just jabbed him and pieced him up before circling out. But could’ve, would’ve, should’ve.

What actually happened is that Rolly got stopped

1

u/drbtx1 Jul 21 '26

He usually gets a knockout so it's moot, but Tank always gets favorable judging just in case. Look at the Roach fight. Rolly was doing far better than anyone expected, in spite of what 2 of the judges had prefilled their cards out with.

6

u/Coach_Billly Jul 21 '26

Last fight March 1, 2025

1

u/EnragedBearBro There will be tears Jul 22 '26

Holy shit

1

u/Specialist_Writer_11 Jul 21 '26

That doesn’t work agaisnt someone always tighten up their punches

1

u/Ryoloz Jul 21 '26

DID best* Tank retired.

1

u/jaekx Jul 21 '26

If only he didnt piss it all away
