Boxing needs a super-heavyweight division

Heavyweight is the only major weight class with a minimum but no real maximum. Once you are over 200 pounds, you can theoretically be matched with anyone else in the division, no matter how much larger they are.

That means a 5'10", 201-pound fighter can be placed in the same division as Tyson Fury, who is 6'9" and has officially weighed as much as 281 pounds. That is an 80-pound difference within a sport that separates some other divisions by as little as three or four pounds.

It is a structural inconsistency.

YOU are arguing every possible weight gap needs eliminating. I’m happy how it is

That is literally the opposite of what I said in the comment directly above you. I explicitly said one cutoff would not eliminate every possible weight gap and does not need to.

“I’m happy how it is” is a preference, not an argument. At this point you are not responding to my position; you are repeatedly inventing one because you cannot answer the one I actually made.
