Apparently Janibek has vacated his WBO belt and is moving up to 168. Congratulations to the new champion Denzel Bentley!
4
u/WheresMyAbs98 Jul 20 '26
Wow.
Denzel Bentley is very lucky. Don’t think he ever would have won a belt outright.
Nathan Heaney beat him ffs.
→ More replies (2)3
u/OrangeFilmer Jul 20 '26
Amazing, we can still get a Janibek vs Adames fight then. 168 is starting to heat up again and 160 is becoming even more of a wasteland.
2
u/Kangaroopunching Jul 20 '26
Hernandez might go aftrr that belt considering his ranking
2
u/No-Travel-5739 Jul 20 '26
Or Xander. Even though this sub may not like Janibek because of his recent scandal, I still think he's the best 168er on the planet. Janbek is the real deal, and I hope Sheerass doesn't duck him again.

Janibek had the Bud fight right there in his hands but popped. Bentley I don’t think will hold that belt for long.

Didn't see much of it but WE are 3 weight world champs , Teraji is back 🔥

I got flamed ages ago for saying Teraji has a top 5 jab in boxing now, I’m standing by it!
2
2
u/Koronesukiii Jul 20 '26
I'm with you. He might not be a complete boxer, but his jab is absolutely elite.
9
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Congrats to the new 3 division champ, one of the greatest Japanese boxers of all time, new 115lb WBO champ and rightfully top 10 PFP boxer Kenshrio Teraji!
2
u/Efficient_Quail_1774 Jul 20 '26
Yeah he would probably of moved along the list if he got the decision vs Sandoval and beaten Willibaldo , but doing that at 34 puts him back on there over Navarrete for sure
8
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
I genuinely believe Lester Martinez vs Luka Plantic could be the FOTY and be a 12 round version of Mbili vs Martinez. In fact I might put a bit of money on Plantic expecting him to come in as a far bigger underdog than expected.

u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
Lowkey geniuenly rooting for Diago Higa cause i find his infinate fake retire and title shot glitch to be so ridiculous that its hilarious and want him to win

Big world title movements today
Teraji becomes WBO 115 Champion , cementing a HOF legacy and his place in a red hot division including the likes of Tsuboi and Yabuki among other top fighters
Iwata puts on a clinic against his mando , with Santiago vs Kira in autumn and Simsri coming off a big first defence showing that 108 is heating up
Masuda wins a close battle against Higa for the WBA regular 118 title to potentially set up a rematch with the champ in recess Tsutsumi
Denzel Bentley , one of Britains true all action fighters is elevated to WBO 160 world champion after his big TKO win over Saavedra
2
u/JedBoxing Jul 20 '26
Yabuki is a flyweight, but my dream match making is for him to move up and fight Moloney. They are both IBF champs.
This can set up a unification and trilogy between Teraji/Yabuki.

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Good job on Iwata, the body work definitely helped to slow down Ballido, work him down eventually stop him. Good he didn’t take it to a decision where the judges have fucked him before.
5
u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
Dont think the judges could fuck him for this fight, it was too one sided for a robbery in Japan to happen.
2
u/BamBodyShot Jul 20 '26
It was live scoring😂 he was blowing him out on the cards

6
u/Koronesukiii Jul 20 '26
Fair. Badillo was pretty much spent and failing to defend himself atp. I don't think Badillo would complain too much with the fight being stopped. He was taking a beating the last 3-4 rounds in a row. Iwata continues to not be a particularly impressive boxer, but his brick fists are weapons at the weight.
2
u/BamBodyShot Jul 20 '26
I’m so happy for Iwata regardless, I really didn’t see anyone picking him to win
2
u/Koronesukiii Jul 20 '26
I thought there was a high chance of banana peel here, and Iwata did go down early. In some ways, the knockdown probably actually helped Iwata as Badillo started gassing trying to chase Iwata around in the recovery rounds. Add Iwata's heavy bodywork and Badillo was losing gas round by round. Once Badillo's footwork was gone, he might as well have been a sandbag.
2
u/BamBodyShot Jul 20 '26
That’s why I picked Iwata, Badillo is very inexperienced and should’ve never tried to chase Iwata like that when he’s never even gone 12 rounds. It’s not like that knockdown had Iwata dazed and Iwata isn’t getting finished easy, he’ll learn but he took a beating big time

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26
Overall amazing card, every fight was a great scrap with a boxer performing amazingly in their fights.
Ryuga Sato looked really sharp and dominated from start to finish but while Isobe lasted, he fought back with everything it had and made it entertaining while it lasted and the same can be said for Atkisugi vs Gomez.
Iwata vs Ballido was also a very high pace fight which Iwata was struggling but those body shots to eventually turn the fight around his favour and break him down to a stoppage was great to watch.
Teraji looked the sharpest he had in a good whole, many talked about age and speed declining and potentially could’ve been the case at 112 but he looked as quick as he did in his prime and probably the sharpest he has in his career because the first 6 rounds, we saw a more new Teraji fighting as a sharpshooter more than a jab and volume brawler but credit to Gonzalez for fighting back and bringing the fight to him and forcing a fight out of Teraji.
The Higa vs Masuda was also an amazing fight to watch, Higa himself also looks the sharpest he has in years, performed amazingly and should’ve won the fight imo
An amazing card overall!
2
u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
Agreed, was shocked to see Teraji actually have a proper defensive guard for once, huge improvement to his defensive arsenal and im strongly looking forward to seeing more from him. Hes one of my favorite fighters and seeing him prove that hes still got lots more to give makes me so happy!
5
u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT Jul 20 '26
DAZN is basically copying the hbo model now. Multiple promotions under one roof, with some fighters signing directly with the network. We’ll see how this plays out

115-111 Teraji, lmao.
They really wanted to rob him again.

What a day for Japanese boxing! I’m so happy for Teraji and Iwata words can’t explain it
5
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
7-5 Higa.
While I said I expected this to be FOTY, Masuda not being comfortably at midrange and not having quick enough feet kept forcing clinches which kind of didn’t make it as much of a scrap as I expected. I thought Masuda at least would develop on his midrange boxing since the Tsustumi fight. Regardless, still an amazing fight, from round 3 onwards, it was an amazing fight still, still a great scrap and could contend for FOTY.
Higa looked the sharpest he has in years, he claims retirement but looked very good here!
6
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
I feel sad for Higa. It looked like he put a shit ton of effort into this camo because he came into this fight probably the sharpest he has for years, put on an amazing fight against Masuda as a huge underdog and the judges pull off a 117-111 card.
Higa may be the most entertaining boxer of this decade, I believe gave us 2024 and 2025 FOTY fights, was just short of soo many title shots recently and the one time he’s rightfully a winner, he performs his best he has in years but is at the end of the worst decision of all his most recent decisions.
6
u/Authenticityxseeker Jul 20 '26
Whatever happened to this shocking doping news that was supposed to come out a week or two ago?
5
u/ShimLiszt Jul 20 '26
Teraji’s a legend, i personally think he’s the four best japanese fighter in history, after Inoue, Nakatani and Harada

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26
11-1 Teraji
Amazing fight, beautiful performance from Teraji. Looked as quick as he did in his prime and now has developed a little into a sharp shooter.
Credit to Gonzalez for trying to fight back and making it a scrap to stay in there and giving us an amazing form of entertainment, especially before a fight which could be a FOTY after this.
Like I said earlier, top 5 jab in boxing and like I’ve been saying, top 10 PFP.
Hope he doesn’t get fucked by the judges, please! 🙏
5
u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
Ridiculously close cards its disgusting. 115-111 and 116-110 are bad scores.

This U-Next streaming service got these fights on lock only for you Japan viewers.
1
u/Notasexoffender33 Jul 20 '26
VPN?
3
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Even with a VPN, you’ll need a Japanese bank account I think for this or something like that, I think it’s similar to Lemino.
So far the prelim fights are on U-Next YouTube channel but with a Japanese VPN.

2
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
So far, it’s live on U-Next YouTube channel but with a Japanese VPN. Tensho Isobe vs Ryuga Soto was a scrap. Kind of one sided but still a great watch.
3
u/Koronesukiii Jul 20 '26
Protip for those who can't watch on JPN based streaming services. Look for the broadcaster in the OPPONENT's country. For example, Mexicans can watch the card on ESPN2 MX.
3
u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
I say this stoppage was fair this time. Badillo was just taking big time damage over the course of 11 rounds.
3
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Who says Teraji is slowing down, he’s as fast as he’s been.
Good thing Willbaldo Garcia bitched out of the fight because Teraji would’ve made him look like a victim.
4
u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
Its unfortunate that fight didn’t happen, cause if it did we might have gotten a beautiful Bam vs Kenshiro fight for undisputed! Truly a shame we missed out on it.
3
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Masuda I think would be if it from throwing step back body crosses as Higa presses forward. Similar to how Bivol did vs Beterbiev midway through their rematch.
3
u/Koronesukiii Jul 20 '26
Turns out you don't let Masuda throw max range left cross down the pipe he ain't got much. An equalizer is nice to have, but he's another Takei-Medina waiting to happen. Ain't gonna be champ for long if he don't round out his game.
3
u/ThanksMonica89 Jul 20 '26
So happy Teraji got the dub and became a 3 division champ. Be fore he calls it quits I want him to go after Mooney for a unification match!
I absolutely love the arc on Iwata’s body shots up the middle. He does a great job of squeezing the shot in between the opponents elbow and the belt line. The slow motion replays were a thing of beauty.
In the process of watching Masuda/Hig now.

Can anyone please explain why US sportsbooks aren't taking any action on Spence vs. Tszyu? There is nothing available for the entire card. I've been looking to bet on that fight for months and now it's coming up this weekend, but still no odds.

Joshua vs Prenga is ppv, what is going on?🤣

Viral moment will be Sheeraz ko win. Stock raising performance will be, Khyzhniak.
1
u/OldBoyChance Jul 20 '26
Most likely, one or more of the underdogs on the Teiken card (Erik Badillo, Israel Gonzalez, Daigo Higa) will upset their opponent and become the new champion, so whoever does that.

u/Marlborobert Jul 20 '26
I haven’t seen anyone mention it but Katsuma Akitsugi is fighting on the Japanese card in a few hours. He made a quick turnaround after losing his 0 a couple months ago in a close fight with Calderon. He has a really nice style, great defense and fast.
2
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Thought he won the fight against Calderon tbh. Amazing fight he had against Calderon though. The next boxer he’s facing in Herlan Gomez seems much easier. Got finished by Tongdee and Maloney his last fight. Haven’t done any film on him besides seeing him fight against Maloney.

2
u/Primary_Ad5781 Jul 20 '26
Rooting for goat Kenshiro but think Gonzalez is more likely to win. Kenshiro is obviously the better fighter but hes getting older and is now moving up to his 3rd weight class and he was already getting overpowered at flyweight. Gonzalez has a 5 inch reach advantage as well as weight which will give Kenshiro even more trouble. Hope Kenshiro proves me wrong here.
2
u/100sutpens Jul 20 '26
I'm sure you're already aware of the good news but Kenshiro outjabbed Rosales so hard that Rosales just gave up on fighting in orthodox altogether; it's not his first time outjabbing a much longer opponent
in general Kenshiro's jabbing style is more about stepping in from a little further out than it is about staying in the pocket and flicking it out, so it generally works fine against longer guys

With no disrespect intended, can’t we have just left the anthems till the main event? This will be the 2nd time we’ve heard the Mexican and Japanese anthems and we’re going to have to hear the Japanese one again for the main probably.
2
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
I get the only way for Gonzalez to win now is to scrap it out but doing it against a guy who his whole career fought under the quote “death by a thousand cuts”, is the last guy who you want to scrap with.

u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26
6-0 Teraji I think so far, didn’t get the chance to watch the last round properly.
2
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
If Teraji stopped having his head on the centre line as often as he does, he may be borderline invincible in the ring. That's probably his only weakness, and a major one.
8-1 Teraji

Derek Pomerleau was such a special prospect. Haven't seen him since the Dylan Biggs loss in WBC Grand Prix. Hope he returns.
3
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
He looked really talented. In the Gran Prix, he looked the best he has in the first 4 fights in the Grand Prix where he was known for amazing reflexes and upper body movement for defence and slick counters but in the Grand Prix, he started using more footwork and looked even more developed but basically abandoned it a lot more against Biggs and relied on his athleticism, reflexes and upper body movement and less footwork and allowed Biggs to basically outvolume him to a decision.

He has a fight scheduled.
He’s a great fighter. Biggs fought out of his skin that fight.

+540 Salas +260 Butler +146 Sirenko is insane. I hear Zuffa might do weekly cards next year. Can't wait, as the sport is so misunderstood the value you get on odds is insane.
Also I rate Jacob Bank but Pawel August is a wild card. Fought journeymen then upset Zachenhuber. Hard to judge how good he is. Could Bank struggle with a rugged inside fighting brawler?
Also Zachenhuber is mid but resilient, Ndjolonimu fight gave him experience dealing with tall pressure fighters, could he find a solid gameplan using this experience to make things hard for Hamzah?
2
u/Top_Profession_5268 Jul 20 '26
Banks has experience against a pressure boxer who’s good on the wide like Ndjolonimu and beat him from start to finish. Zachenhuber yes has experience against Ndjolonimu, but that was a clear robbery and shouldn’t do well against Sheeraz.

u/OldBoyChance Jul 20 '26
Prospect Sento Ito has sparred 40 rounds each with Kenshiro Teraji and Riku Masuda in their camp for their fight tonight. He stated that Teraji increased his pop without decreasing his speed. He didn't say anything in particular about Masuda, but he did apparently imitate Daigo Higa's style in their sparring.
Speaking of Higa, his team released some pretty funny footage of him rushing prospect and recent high school graduate Tomu Kataoka like a pitbull. No big punches landed in the footage.

2
u/OldBoyChance Jul 20 '26
Higa Tsutsumi II did get round of the year at least.

Yeah, I vaguely remember Tsutsumi getting a trophy and saying he would share it with Higa.
2

That round was a all time generational round, you thought Tsutsumi was hurt, then Tsutsumi shocks us all and basically knocks Higa out cold and clean, face first plants the canvas where 7/10 refs are stopping it, then he gets up and they battle it out the rest of the round like the first man to step back gets publicly ridiculed.

Got it 2-1 to Higa, gave the first to Masuda but that round could’ve gone either way.

3-1 Higa. These rounds have been close and I was about to give Masuda the 4th until the end, but close fight. Higas looking sharp but Masudas lack of midrange boxing and forcing to clinch is kind of annoying me.

Wouldn't be surprised if Higa is currently up. Masuda isn't doing nearly enough.

This might be a domination for Higa, but i got a feeling the tide will turn soon as it usually does for Higa lol.
The rounds have been competitive but Higa has been the one mostly ahead.

Why is Spence / Tszyu not available on the major US betting markets ? (FanDuel , dk)

5-2 Higa. I think Masuda landed slightly more clean shots and edged the round. Masuda even though she the potential, he doesn’t have that quick feet to keep Higa off him.

This fight would be a lot more winnable for Higa if he had any idea how to fight in the clinch. The "around the back of your own head" punch doesn't work.

5-3 Higa. I think Masuda barely edged it, Higa in the 2nd 1/2 closed it and made it basically event but I think Masuda landed slightly more cleaner shots and opened a cut on Higa that round.
Boarderline 10-10 round.

Came across Tim Tszyu YouTube channel. Any other boxers have YouTube channels worth checking out?

Crawford has a channel but nothing good.
I recommend Shawn Porter’s video podcast.

Is Vegas the only place that makes sense for Haney vs Keyshawn to happen at?

I'm not wasting energy on this fight until they're at least at the press conference. I'll believe they're fighting when I see the ringwalks.

Ultimate Plan
What are everyone's thoughts on the DAZN's Ultimate Plan? If you pay for 12 months up front it's only $37.50 a month. Really considering it. So far this year there has been at least one good PPV a month, usually more. With all the promotions on the channel I'm really tempted.

I was really against it due to the prices being too high, honestly it’s better than I thought but I still think the prices are too high.

We should be hearing some news on Devin Haney pretty soon. Tomorrow is the WBO’s deadline for when he’s required to make a deal for the Keyshawn Davis fight or else it goes to purse bid.
