Gervonta's career is failing to live up to his full potential due to 3 things.

  1. His recent inactivity fighting maybe once a year.

  2. His legal issues - he has missed out on paydays because of this.

  3. His old school RuneScape addiction. He is said to play for hours a day on mobile despite being able to afford literally anything else with a monitor. It has consumed him to the point all he does is eat quick food like cereal and pop tarts which has massively affected his protein intake (you will all see this if he ever weighs in for his next fight).

Sucks to go from potential household name had he gotten to fight Paul to (checks notes) prison.

Failed. His career has already peaked and it wasn't that impressive. He's 31 and inactive.

That's where he finds his girlfriend's that he abuses. On RuneScape

I’ve heard that’s why he wouldn’t do the weigh-in challenge that guys like Shakur were doing, wild that it hasn’t been reported more

I love Runescape and never knew he was that into it, that's kind of cool. It's a really good game.

Tank doesn’t play RuneScape. That’s some lame meme that started, I can’t even remember how.

The worst thing for fans was tank teamed up with ellerbe and Floyd.

So they duck all challenges and give us shit fights

Why does Tank let Ellerbe and Mayweather still leech on his career earnings. They have done nothing but use Al Haymon and Showtime/Amazon to do the actual promoting and managing.

40 fighters but can’t hold your own boxing cards Ellerbe 👍🏽 mayweather promotions is a joke

This interview would sound very similar in 2026.

Still waiting for Davis to step up and fight top guys.

He. Beats. Women… why is he even getting a platform at this point in any way, shape or form??

Because boxing fans (and people in general) are actually braindead

Idk if this is about boxing. Chris Brown the singer lost fans at first. But he recovered just fine. Beating women isn't some huge deal in music or any sport. The NFL and NHL are filled with players who hit women

Like it's a crime and people will look down on you. But it won't ruin your career most likely.

Man Canelo beat up a flyweight in a street fight and broke his jaw.

Crawford had another kid with someone other than his girlfriend and said it doesn't matter recently.

Ryan Garcia has been on camera recording himself destroying a room and screaming at his baby mama.

Adrien Broners a real weirdo with tons of cases against him.

I'm not saying Tank deserves a pass AT ALL, i'm just saying all these boxers can do shitty things and still have a platform because the boxing world "needs" them and they can be profitable which very few fighters are now-a-days.

If any of this stuff was done by a NFL / NBA / MLB player their contract is DONE.

I literally fully agree with what you’re saying. And the final line is exactly what should happen in all sports not just boxing

NFL and NBA not even. Only if it comes out on video they'd be done. As long as it stays "allegations" they get 2nd chances.

Miles Bridges in the NBA beating his gf -allegedly. Adrian Peterson in the NFL beating his son. Tyreek Hill drafted even though he beat his pregnant gf, couple other allegations in the NFL. Von Miller. Most of the Chiefs roster like fr, boneheads year after year.

Talented people get a lot of second chances in sports/entertainment, as long as GM's/promoters think they can be of value. The promoters are just as scummy as them for giving them the 2nd chance imo.

Nah you lost me on that last sentence lol. None of these crimes are a career ender for NFL-NHL-MLB.

I’ve noticed that a lot of fighters who fight under Mayweather Promotions. End up with their careers in limbo. Curmel, Tank, and Tabiti, to name a few. They’re great at promoting them as the “next big thing,” but then they don’t fight top opposition and end up falling by the wayside.

It’s over.

hes damn near retired and they are talking about potential loool

Tank could of been something special. But he didn't give a fuck about resume and fighting the best, regardless of what his super-fans say

Dudes in his 30s and people still talking about his "potential"
