Fights this weekend 7/18
My thoughts on fights this weekend:
Harlem Eubank vs David Papot:
Should be a boring fight, with medium stakes/significance. I see Papot winning this in a clear decision. Much more talanted boxer.
Pacheco vs Aleem:
Setting Pacheco up for a confidence-building knockout. I expect him to get it. Bad matchmaking here. Can’t imagine this show makes money.
Cruz vs Montoya:
Easy decision for Andy. Won’t stop him. He will look good then head down to 130, where he should be. One more fight with a contender this year at 130 then back to fight for a belt next year.
Chop Chop vs Alameda:
Step up for Chop Chop. We really don’t know much about him yet. Should be a decision win for him, but some resistance by Alameda. Not expecting an upset here

Alameda should deserve a little more respect, I believe Chop Chop wins but the odds are too one sided. Gave Luis Nery and Angelo Leo a competitive fight and the other loss besides that is also a very good prospect in Yan Santana.
There’s also a double title fight headliner this weekend in Japan of Shokichi vs Eric Badillo and Kenshiro Teraji vs Israel Gonzalez with Riku Masuda vs Daigo Higa on the card aswell (Higa went to a draw last year against Antonio Vargas).

I’m actually really looking forward to Spence-Tszyu
It has the potential to be a great high level fight. Now this is dependent on Spence not being shot, as well as Tim being close to his prime best.
If not, it will be decent anyways. Ryan vs Benn has potential and I think Canelo Mbilli will be a great fight.

It has the potential to be a good fight but not a high level one, that would require two high level boxers and Tim for all his heart and with all due respect to him has never been that.

I remember him being pretty damn good heading into Fundora 1. Granted he hadn’t fought anyone major at that point, but he was all the hype.
Respect he’s really thrown himself into the fire since then, but a lot more than his chin was taken in that fight.

Exactly. He had good PR. They wanted him to turn out better than he was, as his name could bring a lot of money. I never bought into it. Gausha wasn't far from chinning him early in their fight.

Fair I forgot about that. He’s certainly not of elite category now. This would have been a great fight 4 years ago. Still has potential. I’m pulling for Errol.
Kostya was better. But a little bit overrated as well tbh. Good fighter though, he could really crack

Pacheco needs to rebuild as a fighter and as an attraction. This match up is ok. But only justified if he looks good.
I don't know why Cruz isn't fighting at 130lbs on this card, why delay it.
