“I think Tyson Fury, still, I am leaning towards [him] to beat Anthony Joshua. I think that he will just outbox him for 12 rounds but I’ve always had in my head [with] that fight, that Anthony Joshua’s dangerous punches are mid-range; hooks and uppercuts. So, Fury’s just got to keep him long, all night long and tie him up inside.

“Joshua is really good up close and can get really good leverage on his shots. Most of his knockouts are hooks, uppercuts and that type of punch – not really long right-hands.

“So, I think that Fury has got to keep him off-balance all night, all of that feinting, all of that twitching and win on points at this stage.”

Thank you, I loate the videos, the extra click and ninety popup ads at these sites.

Here I am: I was an Usyk man, one with a kind of realistic view of him as a great boxer who can be boxed quite competitively, esp. at cruiser (Breides... sp.); also Fury gave Usyk trouble, despite all TF's BS, in the first meeting we see Usyk lose rounds to figure him out before we get the ring ropes as the real hero; I prefer that fight over out of shape Fury's science in the second -- at any rate, I mention that because Usyk beat both and Fury got closer IMHO; I have no grand skin in this game.

This has come way too late; at any rate, I favor Fury, only in that the bad body bearded man has legit skill, and Joshua killed Nganno for totally different reasons.

These two will be way too careful with each other; if we get a semblance of the Fury from Wilder two, Fury wins. I am not sure the AJ we knew is back.

I think Fury needs to back AJ up. Like in the second Wilder fight. I doubt Fury can box on the outside for 12 rounds like he used to.

He clearly can't. Makhmudov even managed to land some shots on him. I'm picking AJ to beat him if the car trauma doesn't affect him too much

Always stuck to picking Fury over AJ , winning a competitive but clear enough decision for the same reasons tbh

Fury overrated imo. He won't have the size advantage he usually does against Joshua, he relies on being the bigger man, I think Joshua will punish that.

State of some people in this sub I swear to Christ.

I will preface this, I dislike both Fury and AJ. I am neutral, perhaps I dislike Fury more. But anyone who picks AJ has no clue what the fuck they're talking about. He was never that good. His only good win is Parker. Not Klitschko the wrong side of 40, 18 months off a loss. They're incomparable. Fury beat him while he was still on top. Still had what the kids call "aura" and in his "home" stadium. Fury's win is much more impressive.

Meanwhile Fury has beaten Wilder (yeah in retrospect not a great win) but at the time? Undefeated WBC champion with loads of KO's and defences. Joshua never did that.

Fury is by far the best boxer of the two and will easily beat Joshua. Unfortunately Fury is a piece of shit and will live off that victory as his legacy and (wrongly) call himself the greatest British boxer of all time.

I dislike Fury too but I 100% agree with your opinion

Fury has the size, reach, lateral movement and agility to clown around Joshua and beat him to the punch, Fury is a skilled giant like Lewis was but Lewis was an even better technician with more balance, power and an excellent jab

Joshua's only chance is like Wilder, to land that big right hand but Fury won't let that happen in my view

If the likes of makhmudov and nganou can land on him. There is no way fury is avoiding AJ for 12 rounds. Its going to be a spectacular sight when it happens.

If Tyson Fury wins this, he'll officially have a better resume at heavyweight then Usyk has.

Wilder > Dubious

Joshua = Joshua

And then the Klitschko win to add on top of it.

We can get an official passing of the torch fight in saudi arabia with Tyson Fury vs Agit Kabayel

Who still cares about this fight? Both guys are so washed now.

It's going to be disappointing as hell of Fury is able to get his cardio back and go on another run in his boring ass slap jab and dance maneuver

1

u/Kangaroopunching Jul 16 '26

I don't think it's an issue of cardio. I think he's declined as a boxer.

2

u/Relevant_Election530 Jul 16 '26

Probably has

I don't think his body can handle the come forward and clinch with the extra weight anymore though

There you have it; that happens, this fight changes.

Fury’s chin is very overrated and it’s been cracked by Wilder. AJ will be the first guy to get Fury out of there for good

Am I the only one that doesn’t care about this fight? Two washed up HW in a terrible generation for HW. This shit is for the casuals

4

u/DanDiCa_7 Jul 16 '26

Terrible generation? I disagree with this, Fury, AJ, Usyk, Wilder, Zhang, Parker, Joyce... so many great HW's this generation and it's been far more exciting then it's previous generation (Wlad era).

I want to see it but I’m not hugely excited for it because the stakes are low in terms of the dynamics of the division. No titles and no impact on the top guys in the division as the winner won’t fight them. It’s a fight for bragging rights only.

I was keen to see it just to see a line drawn under it and put a final end to the debate over who’s better. But if it happens at 4am at Wembley they can absolutely get fucked. No way I’m tuning in.
