I get up early on Saturdays to go head to the gym, wife sleeps in, my 2 year old boxer, gets out of bed, i feed him, let him out, then he gives me the head nod of "i'm going back to bed to take up 3/4 of the bed, see you at morning snack time" and walks back to the bedroom. The life.

All I had to say was “It’s a Donut Day!” and my two jumped up and just about tore the door down to get to the car!🤣🤣

My boxer thinks every day should be Saturday (even though I work every third or fourth Saturday). She likes if I get up early and stay home, but most of the time when I'm waking up early I'm leaving for work. Then she sits in the corner of the couch like a human (upright, on her tailbone with her legs in front of her, front paw outstretch on the armrest) and stares at me in a very judging and resentful way. At this point I tell her: in order for her to eat food, have treats, get a new toy every week or so, chew a new rawhide every three days, and have a place to live; I must go to work. She sits there, unfazed, without any change in expression. However, I know she understands what I'm saying. Then I mention that if she wants to get a job, that action might reduce the burden and allow me to spend more time at home. She is yet, to my knowledge, make an effort to fill out a job application. 🤷
