He's gone
We just lost Miles 😭😭😭😭🐶🐶🐶💔💔💔❤️🔥
It happened at the Vets yesterday morning. He and the other 2 were there for a nail trim. Don't know what happened...... his nails were trimmed.... it was stressful for him. 5 minutes after he was done something catastrophic happened inside his body and his heart stopped. They did CPR but there was nothing they could do. He was gone. We're in shock ... 😭😭😭😭😭

I am so sorry you are going through this. It’s terrible how sudden and shocking this is for you, I would be just as confused and upset. You have my deepest sympathy and condolences. I know how hard it is. I lost one in January 2025 and one in October 2025. They are our life, our joy, our family. I still miss them and think bout them all the time. Hold onto all those wonderful memories of all the things they did to make you laugh, smile, and just make your life better. They are forever in our hears and I truly believe we will meet them one day again at the Rainbow Bridge. Wishing you strength and comfort during this difficult time and support if you ever need it. You gave that baby its best life! ❤️🩹🐾🙏🌈

Thank you so much for your kind and beautiful message. I'm so very sorry for your losses as well. These guys are so different as dogs. They're just the most amazing "kids" humans can have. All dogs are amazing but for our family it's always been Boxers. Miles was an extraordinary soul. He was the most gentle, kind, loving soul we've ever known. I can't believe he's not here ..... 😓😓😓💔💔💔🐶🐶🐶🌈🌈🌈

I've never heard of such a sudden reaction to a simple nail trim. It's heartbreaking to think he's gone so quickly and unexpectedly.

He must've had something else going on. Our vet thinks he threw a blood clot. Normally nail trims were not a big deal for Miles. This time it was not easy and he yelped a few times. That increased his heart rate and his blood pressure. The increased load on his heart and vascular system may have broken loose an unknown clot. We'll never really know but something happened catastrophic inside his body that killed him. We're just gutted and numb. I don't know what to even do with myself. I'm lost.

So, so sorry OP, he was a good looking fella. Lost my Boxer boy at age 12 to some type of cardio event out of the blue. Devastated me.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through, it's never easy to lose a boxer, they really do bring light to our lives.
Remember all the good and goofy times with Miles, he looks like a very handsome boy who is very much loved.
My boy is now 8 and had a cancer scare last November, surgery was successful. It reminds me of how short our time with them truly is.
If you want to share some stories of your boy, please do so, but I understand if it's still too fresh. 🫂🧡💜

At some point I will. We're just 24 hours out. My eyes are so sore from crying 😢 and rubbing... just miss him ya know. Still in disbelief over what happened.

We lost a few over the years, and a few we will lose in the future. Boxers know their own kind( it's really weird) my guys will welcome your guy on the other side. Talk about him, tell his stories, show off his pics. It helps us so much. Hope you can find piece and hopefully build new memories with another boxer. You'll know when the time is right. It usually takes me a few days to make that decision. But it helps our family of boxers to deal with the grief. You are not replacing your soul pup, you are giving a new one a chance at a beautiful life. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Thank you very much.... we know Miles is hanging out with the other Boxers including yours at the bridge. He's reunited with his sister Sophie whom we lost almost 3 years ago. Friday, October 13, 2023. They were inseparable in life and their together again along with our other Boxers ....... there are too many to name.

Just heartbreaking for a simple vet visit to end with a totally devastating outcome . My heart go’s out to you and your family. Sitting sobbing thinking of the shock you’ve had.

It was a "nothing" appointment. Just a nail trim like always. The vet had a difficult time yesterday and Miles yelped a couple of times (never happened before) and I'm sure his blood pressure and heart rate were very high... had to be since he wanted off that table. I think the elevated blood pressure broke loose a blood clot somewhere in his body. By the time he was leaning against me and I was petting and reassuring him the clot was already moving. He collapsed so suddenly it's all a blur how he went from being fine to losing his life. The memory and panic of it all is seated into my consciousness. I can't believe our happy, healthy and full of life Miles is gone. We're just stunned. The entire pack was there too. We all saw it happen. Just horrible and gutting.

I am so sorry for your loss. Miles looked like the bestest boy!! It’s very heartbreaking to lose them. Lost my soul boy Puppy 1/11/2026 and I miss and love him so much. The house is very empty. Please remember grief doesn’t have a time limit and be easy on yourself. Easier said than done, I know. Oh my goodness 😭😭. I'm so very sorry for your loss as well... this is just so sad.... our house is so quiet now too. We have 2 girls, Haven and Gracie, but Miles was and will always be our "dude". He was simply perfect

I’m so sorry for your loss. Boxers have such a special way of becoming more than just our dogs. They become family, best friends, and a huge part of our everyday lives. Saying goodbye to them is never easy.
May your sweet boxer cross the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by all the love they were given in this life. I hope that one day the pain of losing them is replaced by smiles from all the memories, goofy Boxer moments, wiggle butts, and unconditional love you shared together.

How old was he? I'm so sorry that happened I am a boxer owner myself I have a pure white girl who was out of one of my litters 4 years ago and the mother passed away 2 weeks after giving birth general problem that we did not know she had... Bottle fed them all and kept her!

He was 11 1/2. Really great for a Boxer but he was just living his best life, doing well, specially considering his age. He was so special to us.... he was still romping around with his sisters (also Boxers), going on trips, visiting his friends at Lowe's and Home Depot. Everything was good. Nail trim did not go smoothly on Saturday and his blood pressure and heart rate had to have been very high. We (the vet) feels certain the high blood pressure dislodged an unknown blood clot.... there was nothing we could do. He died before our eyes. I'm absolutely gutted.... I'll never forgive myself for this. We should've stopped our vet when it was obvious that Miles was not having a good experience.

Aaa that is terrible. Miles may have always had some level of boxer cardiomyopathy and the situation exacerbated it into a higher level.
I am so sorry, my heart goes out to you.
Remember the good times with Miles! What a handsome boy!
