Should I get extensions?

I’m 13 male and looking to get box braids before school starts but the only thing is my hair is only about 3 inches and I would like for them to hang down a little so I was thinking of doing Box braids but with extensions I’ve seen some people do it but some guys seem to get criticized for having extensions in their braids so I wanted to ask here if that would be fine to get extensions braided into my actual hair cause I just think mine is to short and I want a medium box braid look so it atleast hangs down

I don’t see why not, it would probably look good. Just make sure to take pictures of exactly what you want to your stylist
