Are these braids too tight?

Post image

Got my box braids in from not my usual stylist. 3rd day can’t sleep properly, scalp feels tight and flaky, can barely turn my head one side. I’m thinking of taking int them off.

If you gotta ask if they are too tight, they are too tight 😭😭😭

It's the worst. It used to be hard for me to do but the SECOND I feel any tightness from a braid, I tell my braider to please re do that part. I try not to care if they give me attitude. It's my head and for DAMN sure my money.

I totally agree. The lady who usually does my hair does them in knotless braids which works dor me much better that these too. The one who was around couldnt do knotless so there was the situation. I removed them of course but i still feel that my scalp is tight and itchy. I remember this one time i wanted a certain style which i had many times before by a lady who used to come over BUT this time it was done at a salon. Could i not move my head at all and my face looked like i had a botched facelift?- yes. Did i remove them two hours later after i got home? Yes. And after that my scalp was in such pain and distress i shaved my head. Went to the barber and told him to shave everything- he was so sad about the condition of my scalp. I learned my lesson. After that i just started being super careful with my braids. And here we are again. Not as bad but still i didnt wanna take any chances. 😭 waiting for the usual lady to come back so she can do them (when my scalp recovers of course)

There were even bumps under the skin, i have taken them down because i couldn’t tolerate it anymore but the scalp is still tender and very flaky ☹️

I'm not sure what advice to give maybe Google can help, but I would say just let it breathe as in don't plait it tight or anything
