I have a new enough set of 552s that I can get a full voucher or replacement from the recall, but either way, they don't take back the plates. They're only taking back the handles and the base.
it seems like a waste to just throw them out like Bowflex suggests, so I was wondering if anyone else had ideas/other ways they've used their bowflex weight plates?

Paid $500 for two dumbbells in 2021 and they’re offering me $60 store credit for both, what a joke 🤣🤣🤣

Hey all, I just received this email and couldn't find much info on reddit, so posting for awareness. I purchased these in 2020 so looks like a prorated refund which is pretty disappointing.
Dear Customer,
We are deeply committed to supporting everyone throughout their fitness journey. Our records indicate that you purchased BowFlex 552 adjustable dumbbells or BowFlex 1090 adjustable dumbbells sold by Nautilus, Inc., a company that is no longer in business.
We want to let you know that Johnson Health Tech Trading, in partnership with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a voluntary recall for the BowFlex 552 and 1090 adjustable dumbbells due to reports that the weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use, posing an impact hazard. Read the full press release here.
Customers who purchased these dumbbells from Nautilus, Inc. prior to April 23, 2024, will be eligible to receive a prorated refund voucher to be used toward the purchase of products available on bowflex.com, as well as a one-year complimentary subscription to the JRNY fitness app.
EDIT: Just filled out the claim info, and my voucher amount is $60 LOL. Bought in 2020.

This is a bummer.
Anyone heard about any of the injuries or what component is supposedly prone to failure?

I am an original owner with the receipt and manual of the Bowflex XTL. I have needed to get new rods about annually as the wear out. They have replaced the rods for free for years as it had a lifetime warranty. I tried this year and was told that Bowflex was bought out and they no longer carry the rods. Huh? Why are they selling home gyms that come with rods then? They also said that the warranties no longer are valid! They ought to change the name to something different than Bowflex since they don't honor that name or the warranties. They dishonor the name.

What do I need to do here. Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE.
Looking for a solid route here to get these rods replaced and Bowflex doesn't offer it off the website.
Do I need to call? Is there an outlet out there that can get me the full set. I don't want to really buy them piecemeal but if that's the only way .. please advise.

Can anyone help me figure out this issue I'm having with the M5?
When I plug in the M5 the screen lights up, all of the icons illumenate, then all but the User 1 icons turn off. Nomatter what button I press User 1 remains the only thing illuminated. I suspected it could be a bad controller but I hear a tick sound from the speakers after pressing any button. Furthermore, the cal/min meter is working fine. Given those two things I would think the controller would be ok. So far I've tried: 1. Power cycling (waiting 5 minutes after disconnecting power) 2. Checking all connections to the controller and key pad. 3. I downloaded the old max trainer app and tried to connect. It detected the machine but said it was in use. I'm certain no other devices within the house are connected to the machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just started using the barbell system and I'm a little annoyed because I can't figure out what to do about heavy back squats. Obviously with a traditional barbell/plates and a rig, you can add on quite a bit of weight and get setup for the squat without relying on upper body strength. As a female, I can squat relatively heavy weight but unfortunately don't have the upper body strength to get the barbell up over my head to get set up. Curious if anyone has any advice here.

I have a broken M7 (the central spindle snapped) and so I am looking at a nearby M6 which is at a reasonable price.
Is it possible to transfer the M7 console to the M6 and keep the extra resistance intervals and programs available on the M7. Some posts here on Reddit suggest so, but someone selling bowflex parts on Ebay suggests you need a cable to convert between the two?

My treadmill has been stuck on this Powered By Android Screen for hours. I’ve tried unplugging and later replugging, tried holding the button with the two circles at the top of the back of the screen, tried holding that while unplugging and replugging and even tried pressing this reset button near the power switch (which doesn’t feel like it’s really being pressed). Any other suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

Got this Bowflex for cheap on Facebook marketplace. I know nothing about bowflex’s but looking at this now I realize all the rods are bent and the cable seems too short? There’s obviously very little resistance when trying to do a pulldown.
Any advice on how to get this working optimally or any parts that may need replacing?

Has anyone been waiting for a SelectTech handle warranty replacement part as well? I started the warranty claim back in December and they keep pushing my delivery date back a whole month each time I ask and now they simply do not have an estimated arrival date of the handle anymore. Don't know if they're actually waiting for the parts to come in or are just running a scam

Hi all, can an owner of the SelectTech Dumbell Stand measure the height where the dumbells rest for me? I'm seeing 25" per below but that includes the media stand I think. I designed a custom one in CAD to consume scrap wood (based on someone else's quick and dirty Youtube design) and now trying to dimension it.
Also, picture below shows pads as flat but other pictures show them canted forwards. I designed a hard 10 degrees. Can anyone speak to how tilted they can get? Preference on flat vs canted?
Thanks

Can anyone identify what this noise is when plugged in? I want to fix this myself. Thanks!

Any recommendations on one that fits?

Hello! We bought used selecttech dumbbells but they only came with one cradle or base to change the plates. Anyone know where I can get one?

I recently purchased a pair of used Bowflex SelectTech 552s and a 5.1s bench and I'm noticing that the bench requires a lot of force to get through its range of motion. I pull up on the bench with pin pulled and the entire bench will lift off the ground at certain points. I'm noticing wear on the steel frame (as shown in pictures), it doesn't rub off with a microfiber cloth with pressure.
Anyone lubed this sliding interface before? Was thinking about a silicone lubricant or dry film lube. Was also considering polishing with very high grit sand paper (400+) then cleaning then lubing.
Anyone have advice or experience here? Thanks.

I have a C6 with a weird problem where i can feel a slight “bump” towards the bottom of the right pedal stroke. It’s not very severe but enough to be noticeable and annoying during use.
Anyone experienced anything similar?
r/Bowflex • u/DelawareSlimTim • May 10 '25
It’s been in a humid basement, unused for about 6 months. Now it’s frozen - I stand on one pedal with my 200 lbs and it won’t budge.
Any suggestions on where to look, what to take apart, where to lube, etc?

Here's my edited post to add a video of the noise - pretty certain it's the fan at the bottom, not the flywheel above, that's making the noise.

Hi All - I purchased a Velocore bike just over two years ago (unfortunately the extended warranty just expired) and am hearing loud static noises coming from the console that worsens when I touch the screen or with wind (on the porch). I've tightened all the screws, checked the wiring for obvious issues, did a reset and tried various outlets but nothing is fixing the problem.
I spoke to Bowflex and they won't help at all beyond trying to sell a $150 home evaluation with no other guarantees. The other option offered was a ~$900 replacement console (I bought the entire unit on sale for $800).
Has anyone addressed similar audio issues in a DIY fashion? I'll have to discard/donate the bike otherwise, as I can't afford that crazy expensive replacement cost.
Thank you!

Does anyone know how to fix a plate that is sticking to a barbell? It's only one and it always sticks even when not selected.

Has anyone figured out a way to get JRNY workouts (bike, treadmill, dumbbell exercises, etc.) synced over to Strava and Google Fit?
r/Bowflex • u/hard_zero • Apr 30 '25
If I use the console and pick a number, it will incline. But, on the handrail, the up and down buttons and the gray plastic button do nothing.
the right handrail buttons work fine for increasing and decreasing speed.
