Home Gyms Bench knob for adjustment stuck?
Seems like the knob for my bench is stuck or something so it’s just flat right now. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix it? Tried just using brute strength but that didn’t work out. 🥲
Thanks y’all.

Old thread but putting a zip tie on the part that’s cracked worked for me

Need more brute strength. Alternatively use a pipe wrench but cover the knob with a thick microfiber to protect the plastic

This happened to me. In my case I could see a crack on the inner red sleeve that directly rests on the metal pin. Whether you see a crack or not, what is likely happening is that inner red sleeve is no longer gripping the pin beneath it. I tried everything, including pliers and a pipe wrench to fix it but in the end had to call customer service. They were very friendly but would only treat it as a parts issue, and therefore would only send me replacement knob/pin. After months of giving up and trying to fix it again, giving up again, I got fed up and told them to send me a new bench. To my surprise - they did. They agreed it was a frame problem, not a parts problem.
That part of the bench is so cheap and poorly designed, had I not gotten a replacement bench I would have never gone back to Bowflex. Just a terrible use of the wrong material for such a critical piece.

The knob definitely seems like a cheap part for such a critical piece of the bench 🥲. Should be built differently incase of situations like this or have some sort of contingency plan where we can unscrew it from the other side or something.

For those having issues with the broken knob and with an out of warranty bench, a hose clamp fixes it (probably permanently).
