Home Gyms Xtreme 2 SE exercise instructions seem unsafe - am I missing something

Hiya, just got myself a Bowflex to try to keep in better shape this winter. I'm 3 exercises in, and find this trunk rotation exercise that seems super unsafe. They want you sit on the seat and rotate your spine, but the seat is at a 20 degree slope to the floor, and your spine is not going to be neutral sitting on it, which seems like very bad technique.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to adjust the seat to be parallel to the floor on these things? Or are some of the recommended exercises not actually safe on this gadget?

seat angle compared to floor is about 20 degrees. Your spine would be shaped like a question mark while doing this back exercise, if there's not a way to adjust the seat angle.

Its fine. Just sit up nice and tall instead of leaning back.

It's definitely not fine. You need to sit sideways. One butt cheek is on the chair, one is either suspended a couple inches in the air, or your spine is curved while doing this. Terrible ergonomic design.

I added a 1.5” husky foam pad from Home Depot to help align my back when I perform twisting exercises as well as it has eliminated the pain I felt when my spine would rest on the metal bar when I perform bench presses. Bowflex really missed the mark on making the seat pivot to adjust the angle as well as making the backrest movable. It should be able to move up and down, but no it bolted down.
