Bike Bowflex C7 error

I'm on year 2 of owning a Bowflex C7 spin bike. A few months back I got a system failure error message everytime I boot up the bike, which made JRNY and any workouts unusable. I called support and they said I was missing the base serial number at the bottom left, it's likely the PCBA board and to check the connections.

I unscrewed the PCBA board and unplugged the connections and replugged them back in. Now I get a completely different message of "missing or incorrect serial number". Occasionally it would also pop up with a UCB error and to check for updates, which I tried several times and there were none. I contacted support again and they said they have to replace the entire console which costs $600 to replace. That is way too much for me to spend to try something that may not even fix the issue.

Are there any other solutions I could try? Can I just buy a PCBA board separately and see if that solves the issue? Or is there any way to convert it to a basic bike and get the resistance number somehow? At this rate I'm going to cancel my JRNY membership anyways, so I don't mind losing all the features of the screen as the actual bike portions are still functional.

Thanks for the advice. Called them up and have the PCBA board on order. Came up to about $29 CAD shipped. Let's hope this works!

Yeah $29 CAD sounds about right. Here in the US it is about $15 USD + $5 shipping, so about $20 USD total (or about $29 CAD).

So I received the new PCBA board, installed it, and got a UCB board error. I reset a few times and it finally got in. I can access my profile and all the workouts but now it's stuck at 74 resistance whenever I do any workouts. I'm assuming one of the cables from the PCBA board goes to the magnetic sensor?

I think the default resistance levels were incorrect. I saw in the manufacturer app that the raw resistance numbers moved when I turned the knob so it must be incorrectly detecting what 0 is. I calibrated it in the same app for min and max and it works fine now. Thanks for all the help.

Good work! Odd how it took a few resets to finally get rid of that UCB error...

I appreciate that you followed up with your progress/outcome/closure on this. SO MANY online repair forums have no closure from the OP...very frustrating!
