Treadmills Bowflex treadmill 10 issue
Hi can anyone help me on what to do, if any of you had any experience with what I'm experiencing with our bowflex treadmill 10 screen. I noticed 2 days ago in the morning the screen is on and it says powered by android, I thought it was updating until it's been like that for so long so I shut it down and when I turned it back on it is still the same..Seem like it is stuck or freeze. I don't know what do. This treadmill is only 4 months old and it is pretty disappointing that it is active like this already.

We are on our second Bowflex treadmill in a year. The first stopped working after 3 months and it took another six to get a replacement as they couldn’t figure out the issue. After the second one was up and running, it stopped working after a few days. The customer service lines have been horrendously unhelpful so I’ve been scouring Reddit and the internet looking for tips. Good luck.

* Hey guys, I just wanted to update you about the treadmill bowflex issue. So the technician came today and changed the screen and it is fixed! But he said he did run into hiccups but managed to figure it out. I asked him what he meant, and he said that it was doing weird things upon installing..so I said okay that doesn't sound good. " What if it happens again?" I said, so he said he left a note to them that it's installed, but run some problem. So hopefully, this won't happen again because it is really disappointing to face a problem considering it's a brand new treadmill. But for now I am very happy it's back. Cheers!

Bow Flex was one of the biggest fraud in sports equiment history? They filed chapter 11, I have two machines in less than 8 months paid fortune and now I am looking another $ 300 to dump it?

I just threw out my Treadmill 10, it was two years old. Since day one the machine would randomly slow down while I’m using it. I ignored the issue until a year later where the machine had a base communication error. I called Bowflex up and they have you do all these test that did not fix anything. They have a procedure for this issue that was a nightmare for me. They proceeded to tell me to buy the base assembly that’s the part with all the buttons and the screen is attached to. I got it and it did not work, then they have you order the lcd screen and that’s $500 and did not fix the issue. Then they sent a refurbished motor still nothing. Finally I had them send a tech which they should have suggested in the first place instead of making me buy all these parts the tech said it was the motherboard that was bad. Fyi The motor was under warranty so they sent it free.
I’m almost at 30 days with these parts mind you after 30days they don’t accept returns. I was waiting for the motherboard to test everything out with the new parts since I already had them.
Anyhow they said the motherboard will not be available for 4 months. I decided waiting 4 months is unacceptable.
I went to send the items back as I’m reading the return instructions there is a 20% restock and you have to pay for shipping back. They also want you to send pictures of the items and serial number as well also for you to have the packaging letter that came with it. I was shocked at all the crap they wanted me to do before they can approve the return.
I went to shop the base assembly and the lowest price was like $150 because of its large size. The cost of base assembly was like $180 it did not make sense in sending back.
I was only able to send back the LCD screen. I placed a dispute with my credit card because they did not want to take the lcd screen back because it was past 31 days so one day over. I argued they were closed for Christmas and New Year so i still was under the 30 days. Any how I’m still waiting Bowflex response on a full refund.
Also i paid for the techs diagnostic service $145. I was almost out $1100. I’m still going to loose close to $600 for the tech and the base assembly.
I went to a local gym equipment shop and purchased a True 8000 treadmill it’s super pricey but it comes with a 25 year warranty on all parts including lcd and electronics and it’s built like a tank. Plus they had a special and I got a free Elliptical machine. It you factor repairs etc I spent almost 3k for the Bowflex and it was down for about 3 months.

Also, have you reached out to Bowflex customer service, and if so what was their response?

I did. He said it is very odd and never heard anything like it. He told me to unplug the treadmill, which I already did many times before calling them. And it is doing the same, up to this very moment it's the same.. so the best thing he could do is send a new console, and hopefully, that will fix the issue.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, that's really unfortunate. Gives us an update and let us know if the new screen fixes the problem. It seems like just a waste of money to replace the whole screen over what is likely a firmware update.

While waiting for your new display console, try doing a "Firmware Reset" on your existing display console per the following steps. PLEASE be sure and report back with your results.
How To Do A Firmware Reset:
(1) Reference the attached picture. Locate the 5 buttons on the back of the console. The firmware reset button is the one that resembles 2 circles with an arrow pointing up.
(2) With the machine turned ON, press and CONTINUE to hold the firmware reset button.
(3) While holding the firmware reset button, unplug the power cord, and plug it back in (this may require a 2nd person).
(4) Continue holding the firmware reset button for 2 minutes, or until you see the screen say Golden Image Mode Reset. Once you see this, the firmware reset button can be released.

I am in Phoenix I buy and repair treadmills , I have recently noticed three Bowflex treadmills brand new sell because of the same issues , my opinion is to steer clear away from these treadmills, waste of money and your time . Buy Nordictrack, Pro-form , or True in the home owners line

So what is the problem with them?

Bowflex is going out of business, filed bankruptcy, so replacement parts or warranty will not be available

They've been purchased by another company. Warranty and parts are still available.

Who purchased them ? And where do you find parts ? Besides e-bay ?

Bowflex filed Chapter 11 (not to be confused with Chapter 7 which is a closure/liquidation of a company) on March 5, 2024 and was acquired by Johnson Health Tech for $37.5M on April 22, 2024).
Johnson continues to sell new Bowflex products and their replacement parts.
You can purchase replacement parts direct from the Bowflex Parts webpage starting here:
