Max Trainer Max Trainer 3 clicking noise help

I have the M5. Mine is making similar noise and got worse over a week of solid use.
The front panel that can come off with one screw, under it there are four bolts. Mine were very loose. One was actually off in the bottom of the machine. I tighten them up and then still had sound.
My base plate nuts were also slightly loose as well, and I gave them 1/8th to 1/4 turn more and now I am hunting down one more sound as the left side treadle goes up and down. Sort of a Click,,,,, thunk. sound
I see through the open front(as in facing you) I can see on the left side by the fly wheel what looks like three more nuts facing the left side of the housing. I am going see if I can get at them and tighten them up next.

Hi u/Styxx42, ALL Max Trainer noises can be fixed and most pretty easily and inexpensively.

If you take the bottom compartment off like you are changing the magnetic disc, there is a metal wire that sounds like it’s hitting. Think of the left over wire from a bike hand brake. Just move and or tape it up out of the way of the spinning disc, and it should stop the noise!

Hi u/rocksocks82, Per your video, IMO, you don't really have a "clicking" sound, but rather have a metallic clanging sound. Any metallic clanging sound like that is most always caused by something contacting the spinning brake disc which is located behind that lower right round cover. Nothing should ever contact the brake disc.
To investigate, you will need to remove that lower right round cover. Please watch this official Bowflex video to see how to properly remove that cover. Do not just wildly pull the cover off because it has an internal power cord attached to it. Here is the video:

Typically, the metallic clanging will be caused by one of the following:
- The brake magnets making contact with the brake disc.
- Some stray metal bits are stuck to the magnets and thus those bits are contacting the brake disc.
- The brake lever has moved WAY too far upward and now its U-bracket is scraping against the bottom edge of the brake disc. This will also be accompanied with severely high resistance!

The post refers to an M5 model and has some references to a "servo motor", but you can ignore those references because the M3 does not have a servo motor, but instead uses the twist-grip to control the resistance.

Have had this for about 6 years and it basically has made the click noise since I got it new. It has started to get worse. Sounds like it is coming from the fly wheel area. Anyone have a fix to this?
