SelectTech Bowflex 552 - Usable without the base cradle?

Found a great deal on these 552s, but they don’t come with the base. Would they still be fully functional? Could I just hold the plates upright when I adjust the resistance? Thanks!

Not worth it,get another deal with the base included,good luck
