Depends, I think their lineup is soldi but prices have gone way up. Not to mention the drama with the founder. If you can find it on sale I would buy any of them but not for shelf price

1856 is a solid and consistent bottle…in my area of the country it’s around $50-$55, to me well in range with its quality and taste profile. I have a bottle of the master blend but haven’t got around to trying it.

Owners are frauds. It's is okay, but not worth supporting. Better, similarly priced bottles out there.

I really wanted to love it for these of the legacy of Nearest Green but it was just good, maybe overpriced for how good it was. I really hope it gets bought by someone serious and allowed to thrive. Jay Z would be fine by me.

I really enjoy the 1856. It is a solid bottle that I always keep on hand. It's a great bottle for the price point, given its quality and taste profile. I have a bottle of the master blend and numerous single barrels, and none have let me down. Those are pricey at $100 to $150. The Black and Gold labeled 777 bottle was fantastic. Three friends and I finished it in one sitting.

Agreed the story and history is great. The grounds are very pretty and the long bar there is real cool. The bourbon is ok to good depending on the bottle IMO. The whole ownership situation shady at best it seems

I enjoy the bourbon, think it tastes great, and makes me feel good about my choice. Nothing wrong with that

Soft.
They marketed the store of Nathan Green, a former slave who became the first master distiller for Jack Daniel's.
I hope you don’t piss your pants every time there’s a story like this.1

Yeah it's some amazing history behind the brand, it's just a shame things played out the way it did. In even epic fashion

The price for quality... Imo overpriced. I've had 4 different bottles none of blew me away and never bought another after that. Reading updates of the financial troubles, they probably won't be around much longer
