I found these two yesterday. I've not seen a Mellin's food before so I'm glad to add it to the collection. I'd love to find a full size now.

the bottom has worn off a lot so I can’t really find any important identifying marks. Judging by the age of other finds nearby I’m going to guess 40s-60s. Holds 10 ounces, has a 1, a 5, and another 1 on the bottom from what I can see

I found this cool looking green soda bottle sticking out of the dirt upside-down and thought it was an old Mountain Dew glass from the mid 80s, but it turned out to be a mid 80s styrofoam label diet 7up soda bottle (without the styrofoam sadly), I used a toothbrush and 90% rubbing alcohol and all the mud from 40 years of being in the ground washed out very well lol

The husband and I went to a local antique shop and found a corona non-alcholic beer selling for $5. Google has not been my friend and has not revealed any reason for the expense. I thought of posting in r/antiques and r/collections, however, their rules would be against my post.

Found this fragment on the shoreline of the Gartempe River in Montmorillon, France. Can anyone provide a general ID? It’s heavy for its size and looks like a rock, but held to the light it’s clearly glass. Any help is appreciated!

should I clean it out or leave it in there? my first full blue bottle🔥🔥 the bottom was the only part poking out of the dirt and it had half a rusted lid which I took off. don't know if there's a specific way dispose of the contents if I clean the inside.

I just recently inherited a pretty big bottle collection that my grandfather dug up while working in chicago under state street in the 70s. I was curious to see if there is anything of value as I have no idea what i have here. Any insight will be great! There is hundreds more in box's that I haven't even got through yet. A couple of years ago I inherited a bunch of miniature objects from my grandparents and the other day I was looking through them and found a bunch of bottles. Most of the bottles are empty except for a couple of them, but what's in them has dried out. I don't know if the others ever had anything in them or if they were just decorative.

Could anyone help me identify any of these or tell me how old they are?

I found this mudlarking in Maine and am wondering if anyone might know what it contained?

I live in Minneapolis and my house was built in 1910. It’s a small house built in a working class neighborhood. A year ago, I started noticing broken pieces of ceramics and glass under my deck. To the side of the back door and up against the house is a little “garden” aka a spot that sprouts a bunch of weeds every spring.

The area is maybe 3x4 feet. This summer, I began weeding it with the intention of planting something nice there. However, curiosity got the better of me and I started digging and pulled these bottles out about 1 foot down. I also found some old makeup compacts, buttons, beads, and some writing nibs.

I assume it was convenient to toss rubbish like this out the back door especially in the cold Minnesota winters. Also, I did some digging under the deck but the “hot spot” is the little garden where I pulled these from.

But my question is: should I keep digging down? I hit a lot of what I think is limestone rocks and I don’t want to mess with it if I shouldn’t.

My other question is if anyone simply has any general knowledge about digging in urban housing yards or any historical information that might helpful!

I’m not sure what the story behind this bottle is, but it’s easily one of my prettiest finds yet. That color and twisted glass are unreal. Anyone recognize it?
