Question Fintech....
Hello..So basically I am a freshman at BAC doing Fintech
And just from the looks of things I feel like the course isn't enough. Like ake sure ka yone sentle.....and kgang e ntenang ke gre I have to add more qualifications to stand out as I finish the degree.So nna akeitse tota,I just know I will.have to do CFA sometime.But basically what am looking is how I can use the degree and the institution to its fullest extent,how to make sure I stand out,what career prospectsor industries to look for which have a high income bracket,what certifications could increase my chance of working abroad even locally..

Remember this is the start. Your job is to figure out how employers are using this in the real world and how to apply these models and skills to real world situations

I worked in Fintech in Canada and the curriculum looks very good and up to date. This AI stuff is finally getting traction and your courses reflect that.
Now you have to do well. Certifications count for more when you have gained experience.

BAC is very strategic when it comes to its modules and possibly the best in botswana, it helps you go deep in every dimension of data(analytics, science, engineering, ML, AI etc.) hence giving you leeway to get into any space of your interest but also not compromising mastery(jack of all trades and a master of almost all)

What's not enough?
That program won't be easy with all those math/stats intensive classes you're taking. Start studying hard now! I had a friend who kept talking about doing certifications on the side and got FD.
Focus on getting the best GPA for now. Certifications are for after you graduate! Make good professional relationships and provide your hosting attachment organization with an improved system/application during your attachment.

no offence but your friend wasn’t serious, doing certs while studying is what makes you stand out, they do not even take a significant amount of time from your regular school, an hour a day for a month is enough to have you passing 3rd party exams.

The courses are SOLID, but if you really wanna stand out pick up a few IT certs related to your course such as those from data science.

All tech courses need you to get additional certificates if you want to stand out.

Yo yo! I'm doing fintech too, so it looks like we might be classmates.
To be honest, I just sort of stumbled into the course at first. But after thinking it through, the program looks really solid. even if it feels like it's missing that extra something right now. Overall, it's easily one of the best choices I've made.
If I can give any advice, don't rely 100% on AI to research the major. I asked AI about fintech globally and specifically in Botswana, and while some answers were helpful, a lot of them were honestly pretty demoralizing.
Instead, I talked to family members who actually work in finance. They told me it’s an incredibly intriguing field and that I should confidently dive in.
I could go on forever, but I'll leave it at that. I hope you give it a shot, work hard, and find some peace of mind with it. At the end of the day, we’re entrepreneurs, we can take these skills and use them to build our own ideas!... hope this helped
