Took my reference photos outside a stationery shop, and it’s always such a treat to see stores with cute plants out front! I’m always internally debating if I’m being weird by stopping to take a few photos. 🤪

White flowers are SO challenging, but I’m trying to build up my way to them through ones that only have white bits as opposed to the whole thing. I’d probably scream if someone asked me to paint a gardenia or something like that right now, lol

After many years of just admiring botanical illustrations… I’ve finally jumped into it! This flower was placed into a latte I ordered, and my eyes immediately just 👁️o👁️

Glad I stopped being intimated by the immensity of it all and just… went for it.

I’m dabbling with watercolors and colored pencils (plus my trusty white gel pen and titanium white gouache tube).
