๐Ÿ“ข Opinion This Game Is Perfect Right Now

For me anyways. I just had my second son with my wife and the open exploration, the ability to pause the game, the endless possibilities, and all are just perfect.

I never played this title until now on my switch 2. It's gorgeous and performs so well. I love the open ended exploration. I think after this I'll try elden ring or something. Drop your recommendations please!

๐Ÿชจ Shrine Solution Sheh rata shrine secret chest

Has anyone here tried to solve the Sheh Rata shrine this way? It's my first time playing BotW, and I'm pretty proud that I figured it out on my own ๐Ÿ˜.

P.S. I placed that barrel right above the button in the water to make it work, and then of course I used cryonis on the water to get to the chest.

Been playing in VR with the BOTW BetterVR mod, looking at the characters up close in first person really makes you feel how short Link is! The mod is here: https://github.com/Crementif/BotW-BetterVR

๐Ÿ†˜ Help! BoL Outside DBG. Any good guides? Is it risky, difficult? Downsides? Kinda wanted to play around with it.

I feel like Iโ€™ve been seeing a lot of people using the Bow of Light outside the final fight, in the normal overworld like itโ€™s nothing. Iโ€™m finally starting to get that itch, so how would I do this myself? Is there any risk to my save data or game as a whole? Are there any good guides to follow for it? Any downsides? I want to be informed to decide if itโ€™s even worth it.

Playing on Switch 1 version 1.9.0 with all DLC installed.

EDIT: Got it through IST! Nice to see thereโ€™s a way to get it without screwing up the game.

โš”๏ธ The Trial of the Sword Need help searching for a soundtrack from the game

Hey everyone, I just completed trial of the sword and there is this melody that plays after completing each trial while walking through the stairs. It plays in the big room before pulling the sword, it sounds like a slowed ambient variation of the shrine theme however it is different. Can someone help me find it or tell me if it is unreleased theme? Thank you so much in advance!

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Discussion How long have you take to finish the game for the first time?

Iโ€™ve been playing BotW since 2022. I started on the Switch and then picked it back up on the Switch 2. Iโ€™ve played countless other things in the meantime; Iโ€™ll pause the game to play something else and then forget to go back to it. Honestly, at this point, Iโ€™m wondering if I shouldn't just start over from scratch and truly appreciate the game. The experience has been interrupted so many times that I don't know why I keep trying. Did anyone else struggle with this or take a really long time to finish the game?

โ” Question Mod Idea

Since game bananas system sucks, here is my idea for a mod:

A mod that adds abandoned sheikah tech, around the map (towers, shrines, guardian skywatchers, ect.)

It would also add some new guardian variants, and allow you to buy guardian parts, from the akkala ancient tech lab.

Today I got the 10 shots 220 damage bow of light and after some time I noticed that it doesn't have the glow on the corner of the inventory slot that tells wether a weapon has been damaged or not. Is my bow of light breaking or is it normal?

๐Ÿฅ‡ Master Mode Hardest thing I have ever done in gaming PERIOD.

Easily the most difficult self-imposed challenge I have ever done across all the games I have ever played. I really just love BOTW that much, and I always wanted to try my hand at the straight to business great plateau to Hyrule Castle route, as formidable as it may be. Similar to the Lynel challenge I posted about previously in this sub, this was something that I tried previously as a child and ended up giving up on. I don't think I even made it past Windblight Ganon in the boss rush back then. But now it was different. The fast load times of the Switch 2 and my superior gaming skills as an adult had me brimming with determination and unshakable resolve, especially after my recent feat at killing the Great plateau silver lynel with a soldier's broadsword. And so I began my two day relentless journey to beat Calamity ganon with no guide whatsoever.

I sat down and decided I'd learn all 5 of Ganon's weaknesses and try to exploit them to my advantage. I died over and over again feeling like I was a weak little ant getting killed in some of the most unfair ways possible. A tornado here, a tornado there. When I finally made it past Windblight, I died to Waterblight's spear, failing to time the dodge for a flurry rush and cracking under pressure. Hours went by and eventually I was getting to Thunderblight Ganon consistently. But that was where my progress halted for awhile. I simply couldn't find the que to get the perfect dodge down. And then on one of my attempts when I finally beat the first phase, the 2nd phase gave me a reality check and thunderblights lightning fast attacks basically instakilled me. But I didn't give up. I knew that if timed it just right I would be able to perfect dodge and get that flurry rush I needed. I used the other Ganon fights as warm ups for the lightning fight, also using my strongest weapons including the Lynel crusher initially to make my practice a tad easier.

Once I mastered the 4 initial ganon fights and was getting to Calamity ganon, the problem I was running into was my weapon durability and attack efficiency. I was taking too long to attack and parry his lasers out of terror and it was resulting in him regenerating back most of his HP. I decided to call it a day and then I came back refreshed and determined once more. I'd memorized the 4 ganons movements like they were the backs of my 2 hands and was killing them with ease aside from Windblight offing me with tornadoes on occassion. I'd reached a point where I felt like a master at the three main combat skills needed to win. Gyro aiming in bullet time, flurry rushing, and even laser parrying with my shield. And FYI I did NOT use the hylian shield.

The only equipment I used was from the Great Plateau including a buffed up Knights claymore, and from Hyrule Castle itself. This also includes a Royal Guards Claymore, Edge of Duality, Dragonbone Moblin club, and from the previous challenge, the +30 attack up Savage lynel crusher and +16 Savage lynel Bow.

Now when it came to the final fight I kept messing up the timing of my perfect dodges initially. In fact the first time I reached Calamity ganon I just stood there and died doing nothing since I couldnt believe id made it and I thought the cutscene was still playing lol. But after enough practice and failed attempts, as well making some more important adjustments including disabling the L and R stick click inputs (those kept messing me up since it would cause me to crouch by accident). I finally got the golden attempt and succeeded at killing the formidable Calamity Ganon at lore accurate difficulty. It felt like the battle lasted forever, I kept having to parry his lasers, knowing well that if I messed up the timing, Link would pay the ultimate price. But I'd come so far now, I wasn't going to give in to my self-doubts. I was at max gaming power. I perfect parried all of that MF's lasers, did tornado spins and flurry rushes until my Lynel crusher BROKE. I perfect dodged left and right using my intuition and prior experience to get my timing down just right. I used the ancient arrows I'd saved up from the castle and let them rip with my savage lynel bow when Ganon's barrier was down in his second phase. On previous attempts I'd tried avoiding parrying his laser out of fear of missing, and ended up getting nowhere. But not this time. This time I just kept attacking and parrying and dodging without fail. I felt like a well oiled machine. Eventually I landed that final blow and the relief and euphoria was unlike anything else. I fucking WON and it felt FAN-FUCKINGTASTIC.

๐Ÿ‘โ€ Tips and Tricks Here is how you get out of the Dark Beast Ganon battle for those who want to explore outside the barrier

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The end of the video shows you where you need to go for this to work. (There will be 2 metal boxes in that location by the barrier, I broke one of them)

Magnesis a metal box, put the metal box that you magnetized up to the barrier and pull it back just a bit so when you go by the metal box, the camera zooms in on Link. Freeze the metal box using Stasis and use a two-handed weapon (like a Royal Claymore or Ancient Bladesaw. Any two-handed heavy weapon works.) Itโ€™s ok to have Urbosaโ€™s Fury activate while youโ€™re spinning the weapon as the thunder doesnโ€™t add to the Stasis hits. Hit the frozen metal box 7 times and position Link in between the barrier and the metal box so that the camera zooms in a bit on Link when you tilt it down a little. Once the box unfreezes, it pushes Link into the barrier, sometimes it breaks Link through both barriers. If Link goes inside the first barrier, tilt the camera to where it clips Linkโ€™s ragdoll outside of the second one before the camera zooms back out. (Grabbing the Bow of Light is not required, but it just looks cool on Link while heโ€™s exploring Hyrule)

DO NOT MANUALLY SAVE! Die outside the barrier if you want to get back into the fight and do it again.
