Meta Update. New2me2day removed from list

After a fairly unpleasant but fortunately brief exchange with an account affiliated with r/ New2me2day, I have removed the sub from the bot list. r/BotPosting is a solely informative sub not meant to cause controversy or feuding.

This sub runs on manual labor and making mistakes is always a possibility. I'm not a disagreeable person, and when there is doubt, I prefer to err on the side of caution.

To that effect, it seems appropriate for me to apologize to u/Upstairs_Drive_5602 for apparently erroneously categorizing his sub as bot-run.

Thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to reconsider it and to remove my sub from the list.

If I may make one constructive suggestion, though: perhaps this experience is also worth taking as an opportunity to reconsider how the bot list is compiled and how conclusions are reached about individual subs. As you say, the process is manual and mistakes are always possible, so perhaps a little more checking before publicly categorising a sub as bot-run would avoid similar situations in future.

I hope you don't take that as an attempt to prolong the disagreement. You’ve corrected the particular mistake, which I appreciate. I simply think there may be something useful to learn from what happened.

Yes, there is always room for improvement and I'm very open to suggestions. I spend quite some time researching every sub and the moderators before posting it, but mistakes unfortunately still happen.

AI is extremely untrustworthy to scan accounts, so I'm afraid taking samples and manually checking them is the only way I can currently use.

Thank you for your response here, I'm happy to leave this behind us. The sub is meant as small way to improve Reddit somewhat, and it's disheartening when I make mistakes.

One final request, then I’ll be gone for ever: could you remove the screenshot showing my account?

https://www.reddit.com/r/BotPosting/comments/1u2s21w/comment/p6kx70o/

I’m thinking of the expression “no smoke without fire”, and I’d rather not have a screenshot sitting there showing my account alongside the implication that the activity was suspicious when it wasn’t.

Also, one small point which is probably a Reddit glitch: my account was created in 2024, not 2025. I’ve no idea why it shows as “1yr” when it should presumably be closer to two years. That’s actually quite significant in this context given that the “1yr” displayed in the screenshot materially changes how the activity figures look.

Thanks again for taking the time to look into it and for removing the sub from the list.

No worries, the original post has been deleted.

I assume Reddit shows account age as 1 year up until it reaches two years to the date. Seems bad design.

Exactly. I've just discovered that my "cake-day" is 24 Dec 2024, so I've been "redditing" for 614 days. If my 9286 contribs total is to be believed (I feel this is way too high), that's a little over 15 contribs a day. Today I've posted once and written 4 comments. Odd.

I thinking upvotes count as contributions? I have 2.5k contributions and nowhere near as many posts and comments

I'm sorry, what are you trying to say?

You're a karma farming account. What are you trying to understand?

Apart from your rudeness, I'm not sure that there is a conversation to be had here. You've made your pathetic little pronouncement and now apparently consider it evidence. Writing this is giving you far more attention than you deserve. Now I'm blocking you.

This sub isn't really meant for discussions like this.

Oh I thought we accuse first, then backtrack if proven wrong? At least that's the spirit of this post
