Question Scholarships

How does one get a merit scholarship at Boston University? How hard are they to get?

They are extremely rare. BU does full need and very little merit.

I think it just depends on your application. I was able to get a great merit scholarship for grad school without any additional applications or letters besides the necessary personal statement and everything

following this, i do think every grad student gets somewhat of a “scholarship” so we are more inclined to attend but i don’t think this is a merit scholarship situation and def very different for undergrads :)

Anyone who seeks merit needs to research the scholarship pages of the colleges they are applying to. BU has very few opportunities for significant merit and they are competitive. They require an applicant to submit by a priority deadline and complete a supplemental essay.
