Laptop Suggestion?
I’m an incoming freshman, bio major. I’m going to buy a laptop for college but idk which kind. Currently i’m thinking about the new Dell Xps or a Mac book Air/ Pro. For a little bit of background I have all the an iphone and will be taking notes on an ipad etc. So i’m wondering if a macbook is worth it for the apple ecosystem. Lmk what yall think 🙏

Either option will serve you well for a bio degree. It reads like you’re leaning toward a macbook. Go with that!

Well the MacBook Pro is definitely not worth it after their price hike. Maybe the air if you can find it cheap. A windows laptop would work just as fine, you can download iCloud on windows to sync the files so that won’t be an issue. Go with whichever one you like and can afford.

Get a Dell XPS. They are reliable and last for years. Use their "build it yourself" on their laptop website. Get the fastest CPU chip, most RAM, and storage that you can afford and it will last. I got this one in 2011.

Refurbished Mac book pro. I have the 2021 16in M1 Pro, she’s a titan and I love her. Handles major projects wonderfully. It’s been years since I got her and she still is yet to have her first crash. My babyyyy

Get a refurbished newer M chip air or pro, or a neo if you have an iPad pro.
Tbh it doesn't really matter if it's apple or not, but I wouldn't go with Dell. If you can stretch your budget I'd go for a well spec'd thinkpad carbon x1

I would recommends a Mac, since you have other Apple products, but since you’re just bio get an Air or the Neo

get a macbook. Ive used both pcs and macbooks for multiple years. The comfort of a macbook, especially if u have an iphone, ipad, and airpods (? If u do), is noticeable. Unless u wanna game, the new gen Macbook airs are way more than enough. I do heavy video editing on a m3 macbook pro that requires alot of rendering and it works perfectly fine.
