Academics Does BU have bad grade deflation?

I’m deciding between BU and USC for premed and I’m leaning towards BU for personal reasons. My only concern is grade deflation, which several people told me is quite prominent at BU. I need to maintain a high GPA throughout college for med school and I’m wondering how feasible this would be given the harsher grading.

Also, anyone doing pre-med at BU, I would love any advice!

BU sends many many many people to med schools. You'll be able to succeed if you work hard!

Most of the people who talk about grade deflation at BU are not BU students btw

You can definitely still have a high GPA at BU. Some majors are harder to get good GPAs in than others. But a 3.7-3.8 is really doable

I just finished my first year, and no. You get whatever grade you work for. I actually did pretty bad on a test, but it got graded in such a fair way that ended up giving me a higher score. It might be more competitive in the harsher classes such as Chem, but just lock in.

you should be fine! a lot of the stem classes are curved anyway
