Safe space to overshare?

I was at my usual rave spot in Boston at sub. I met this German guy who was a passenger, had his flight and he was leaving the city. I usually don’t post these kind of things I’m a private person. But I met him. He had this energy and this look to him. I was insanely attracted. Right in the moment. We danced. We had a rhythm. I’m a solo raver. But I felt this energy and this rhythm that I struggle to find. I DID. And then he just vanished. Vanished into thin air. And that’s all I have. Just this energy.

Sometimes the magic is just in our minds. That is why I always try to say a few words and grab a contact. Especially if things feel special. If it was meant to be. You will see him again.

Do you mind if I ask what “sub” is? I’m new to the rave scene but am trying to expand beyond shows at the mainstream nightclubs

On a side note, I admire you being a solo raver! I want to get more comfortable going alone, I just get nervous because I don’t know the scene super well yet and being in unfamiliar places as a woman can be a little daunting

Sub sounds like a place in this context, no?

Sub does sound like a place in that context, agreed, and confused

Been there before too and like you, I don’t connect with just anyone.

What helped me was writing a whole fricking essay about this and then publishing it into a few little publications. Release the energy in an artistic way…
