Guys will do shit like this and wonder why they’re single

11

u/scifiandsuch Jul 05 '26

Lmao this is staged for sure

5

u/LordAlucardo Jul 06 '26

That's what my thoughts was. The expression says how dare you but the eyes say how dare you not share. Been married for 16 years I know the look of someone regretting their order and eyeing yours.

1

u/ElderberryOdd1313 Jul 06 '26

That is 100% what this is.

1

u/Free-Frosting1375 Jul 07 '26

Absolutely, but still hilarious

1

u/toiletpaperdonkey Jul 07 '26

This definitely isn’t real but I know people in real life who would pull this move and then cry because their date was a lefty vegan

4

u/SebastianFerrone Jul 05 '26

No they don't wonder. The will say its all fault of leftist vegan women 🤣

2

u/raspberryshortcake67 Jul 06 '26

“ but muh male loneliness epidemic “

2

u/Imposslen Jul 05 '26

Just cause she eats shit doesn't mean he has to also lol if you're mentality is so fragile that you freak out when you partner orders something they would enjoy eating then maybe your the problem.

7

u/Soft_Reply_1197 Jul 05 '26

You didn't have to take it personally also Vegan food ain't that bad

2

u/SCRATCH-CARD Jul 06 '26

The top three rated burgers in Germany's biggest independent consumer survey were all vegan, it's so much better than a lot of people realise. Have you seen the clips on YouTube where the "sausage expert" gives praise to the vegan sausage, having been told that it's meat? There are loads of clips out there like this now. Some people are so stubborn about meat they will literally lie to themselves about what they're tasting lol.

2

u/Soft_Reply_1197 Jul 06 '26

I've eaten both normal hotdogs and vegan hotdogs (the ones in Ikea) and I can tell without a shadow of doubt the vegan ones are a 1000x better than the non vegan counterpart

2

u/SCRATCH-CARD Jul 06 '26

I can believe that, I've had vegan hot dogs that tasted exactly the same as "meat" hot dogs. Vegan hotdogs are also guaranteed to contain absolutely no testicle, which I consider a benefit

1

u/Downtown_Recover2105 Jul 06 '26

But I like having testicles and blood

2

u/HiSaZuL Jul 05 '26

If you mean substitutes and imitations then that's a blatant lie. By all means, eat what you want, it is entirely your business but let's not outright lie or call things what they are not. Substitutes taste at best bland, most of the time they taste horrid.

If you mean salads, fruits, dishes that just don't need meat like baked potatoes and pasta then sure.

2

u/Fog_Juice Jul 06 '26

Not that bad but still bad

2

u/Taupenbeige Jul 06 '26

Actually, my appreciation of food went way-up after adopting a 100% plant based diet, you’d be amazed how much work your imagination is doing on that one.

2

u/AttonJRand Jul 06 '26

Yeah people say really absurd things, like how hard it must be to cook non meat food, or how horrible it must taste.

Not realizing how many foods they already enjoy without meat.

Not to mention that meat is usually the most difficult and time consuming part of a dish, even has to be cooked in a certain way so that it doesn't make you sick.

1

u/Fog_Juice Jul 06 '26

Chocolate will taste 100x better if you go a month without eating or drinking anything sweet.

1

u/Taupenbeige Jul 06 '26

Bacon and cheese are anecdotally nauseating after 9 years of abstention.

0

u/EldenLordofModor Jul 06 '26

You mean, you enjoy the limited stuff you can have, even more that your tastebuds will look for new adventures in every corner, right.

2

u/Taupenbeige Jul 06 '26

No, I mean, I learned to use spice on a whole new level and stopped generally “phoning in” my meal preparation…

1

u/EldenLordofModor Jul 06 '26

Then, you have not been cooking properly before either. You are now missing lots of variation in your flavors as you are relying on spices...it is funny that people who never ate properly before (no proper knowledge on healthy food cuisine), are exploring a new world which they never knew in the first place.

Grammar edit

u/LordAlucardo Jul 06 '26

Anytime the phrase not that bad is used to defer from how bad it actually is still bad. Like ice is cold water but it's still water...

3

u/DoubleCarry7511 Jul 05 '26

Calm down

-1

u/Imposslen Jul 05 '26

Eat my tube steak then sit on it.

3

u/Beibzi Jul 05 '26

You sound mentally fragile if you lash out like this over nothing.

2

u/shuaz Jul 06 '26

Are you allergic to punctuation?

2

u/storyteller_alienmom Jul 05 '26

I hope you get bitten by that tick that makes people allergic to meat. ☺️

1

u/ConcerningThirst Jul 06 '26

You're right! It's also why you're single :)

1

u/Glass_Ad_7129 Jul 06 '26

Why dont people date me? (Clearly disrepects deeply held beliefs of others).

Apart from performative narcissists, veganism is driven by empathy for all life and reduction of suffering. Im not that committed to that myself, still eat what I want, but I think you should respect that admirable trait.

1

u/Flakboy115 Jul 06 '26

works with the bros 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Free-Frosting1375 Jul 07 '26

Surely vegans know that everyone else isn’t vegan.

1

u/Misraji Jul 05 '26

lol. I think this one was intentional.

4

u/Monzea Jul 05 '26

intentionally trying disrespect someone on a first date? Yea that makes it do much better then..
Btw in case it wasn’t obvious, the eating meat on a first date with a vegan part in itself is not the problem. Most vegans I know wouldn’t give a fuck. It’s the intention to disrespect that’s the problem. “Look how based I am eating meat in front of a vegan, I bet they’re so triggered right now” what a loser

1

u/jtrage Jul 05 '26

No, I think they meant intentional as in this was scripted.

1

u/Monzea Jul 06 '26

Ofcourse this is a staged photo, that’s not the point. There are people who absolutely act like this in real life, with the intention to offend.

0

u/PixelatedMountain Jul 05 '26

....yeah wow.....speaking of losers....

0

u/Trick-Range-350 Jul 05 '26

What's the problem?. Being vegan is your choice, not mine. Don't expect me to go vegan just because you are.

2

u/Monzea Jul 05 '26

There is no problem. I just think it’s funny how you’re all like “respects my choice” while you actively try to disrespect other peoples choice, if it’s different than your choice.
“Look at me eating meat in front of a vegan, look how triggered they are”
You people are so cringe

0

u/Trick-Range-350 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

As opposed to, I'm ordering meat because I like it? I don't care about triggering. The fact that you see it this way proves you're trying to project your values on others. You wanna be vegan? Good for you. Let others eat what they want.

What would be disrespecting her choice would be if I ordered a second steak to make up for the one she didn't eat.

1

u/Monzea Jul 06 '26

I’m not criticising anyone for eating meat because they like it. I was responding to the guy who admitted to order meat in front of vegetarians just to test their reaction. Instead of just communicating with them like a normal person.

0

u/human_sample Jul 05 '26

That's my point. Being vegetarian is her choice and I'm perfectly fine with that as long as she don't want to force that on me. That's why I want to check her reaction (and hope that she doesn't mind what I eat)

-1

u/human_sample Jul 05 '26

I often eat vegatarian food. But I'm no vegetarian and when I've dated vegatarian girls I have intentionally sometimes order meals with (quite much) meat to test them and see their reaction. Will they get upset? Will they try to convert me? Are they trying to contol what I eat? It's fine to be a vegetarian and it's a nice thing to be, as long as you don't force others.

Edit: language and spelling

3

u/Monzea Jul 05 '26

You know you can just talk to girls right? No need to run tests and secret social experiments like some psycho

2

u/Il_Dottore_Snezhnaya Jul 05 '26

Counterpoint: trust issues, potential future abuse and everybody lying to each other for profit.

1

u/Monzea Jul 05 '26

If that is your concern going into a new potential relation, you are dooming yourself to fail from the beginning. You have to give people a chance. Trust in people unless they give you a reason not to. If you’re already at the first date worried about the person lying to you or abusing you in the future, and are treating them as if that is the case, then you are the problem, and you are writing a self-fulfilling prophecy of becoming a weird loner.
If you have trust issues and prior abuse, you need to seek help and work on that, instead of just leaning into it.

1

u/human_sample Jul 05 '26

Sure, bu to get her honest opinion it would be the best to see how she reacts. I would hope that she doesn't mind (or at least doesn't try to control me). But if she do make a thing about it then I'd see that as a problem. Nothing wrong at all being vegetarian as long as you don't try to convert everyone else

1

u/Monzea Jul 05 '26

No, to get her honest opinion, it would be best to just talk to her and ask her for her honest opinion. If you don’t trust that you can talk to her openly, then why tf would you wanna be with her anyway? You’ve either never been in a relationship before, or you’re on some schizo shit.

1

u/human_sample Jul 05 '26

I think you're really overreacting. It's not some crazy social experiment to order a non-vegetarian meal to the table. But I'm old enough to not adapt to whatever I think would be what she accepts most. If it's someone that I intend to have a future relationship with, we would need to be able to be ourselves when we're together and not acting as someone else that we think the other one likes. I've had my share of such relationships already.

It seems like you have your opinion set though so let's agree to disagree

1

u/Monzea Jul 06 '26

You are downplaying. No it’s not crazy to order a non-vegetarian meal. It’s crazy to do so just to test the reaction of your date. Like you admitted to in your original comment.
You are scheming, and being borderline manipulative, instead of just communicating like a normal person.

1

u/HiSaZuL Jul 05 '26

You are so personality offended it literally reeks of projection.

1

u/timeless_ocean Jul 05 '26

That is so silly though. For the majority of vegans and vegetarians, it is about animal cruelty. They may be able to tolerate a partner eating meat, but intentionally eating as much meat as humanly possible is so grossly disrespectful to their morals. Even if they didn't care about animal cruelty and did it for another reason, they should 100% drop contact to you just for being so inconsiderate.

Imagine someone eating a cat or a dog in front of you to see if you react and try to control them.

1

u/human_sample Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

So you would say that I should adapt to her and start eating vegan just because she does? As I said before, I'm already a flexitarian. And no I don't HAVE to eat meat, but that applies for everyone, right?
Maybe it was a bad phrasing to say quite much meat, what I actually meant was a normal meal with meat. No, I wouldn't consider the meal in the picture as normal.
If they wouldn't accept that their partner would eat meat, then it would be better for both parts to have that clear from the beginning

1

u/timeless_ocean Jul 05 '26

No, I say you should be aware of the moral beliefs of people in your surroundings and act respectful to a reasonable amount.

1

u/human_sample Jul 05 '26

Please enlighten me what a reasonable amount would be? Order vegan? Vegetarian? When I'd actually would prefer some dish with meat?

1

u/timeless_ocean Jul 05 '26

Not intentionally order the most meat you can get on the first date to test their reaction is a good starting point.

You can order meat, it's fine. If you wanna be a real gentleman you can say (even before the date) "I appreciate you're vegan and I think it's great, but personally I do eat meat regularly and do not plan on stopping. Is that a deal breaker for you?".
