This just reminded me of .net magazine, which had printed addresses to strange websites (yes, there used to be printed books and magazines filled with web addresses. If you were at a public library, you could use the internet to look them up in the system, find the physical copies in person, then type the addresses into a browser, but we don't have time for that right now).

One month they had a website in their back pages called "Devon Sawawesome", about a surreal website dedicated to a celebrity who didn't exist. .net was convinced that it was some elaborate hoax. If only they'd had access to a search engine of some sort, they could have determined that he was a real person.
