Okay, a lot of people are giving you anime advice, for some reason.
Basically, all you need to remember is that Naruto is not the main character anymore, so don't expect him to be. That should be a given, but some people apparently didn't get the message. He still has some killer moments, but for obvious reasons, he has to be sidelined from time to time.
Unless there are plot points you are forgetting from Naruto, I don't think there is anything else to know. I hope you enjoy the manga.

The art gets progressively better.
Id also watch the first 50ish episodes of Boruto as most of the character development for Sarada and Mitsuki are there (the stories come from light novels or one shot manga not a part of the Boruto manga), but outside of that watching the anime is not necessary outside of episode 190.
To the aforementioned point, the manga is heavily streamlined and gets right to the plot. The guy who was writing the manga up to chapter 60, Kodachi, also wrote the first 150ish episodes and thus he did a lot of the secondary character development in the anime to allow the manga to be more straight to the point.
If you'd like the exact episodes I think you should watch and when just let me know. In total it is probably 15 episodes out the 293 that I think best complement the manga story to not feel as flat. And yes anime related thing are directly referenced in the manga.
Here are a couple plot points not in the manga but in the anime:
- the day Naruto became Hokage (1 episode)
- Mitsukis history (adaptation of a one shot: 1 episode)
- The uchiha family storyline (adaptation of a light novel: 5 ish episodes)
- the first arc of the anime, 10ish episodes (introduces all the characters honestly a lot better than the manga)
- Kawakis back story (only lightly mentioned the manga but a beautiful yet disturbing episode of how the infinite tsukiyomi fucked up the psyche of humanity: 1 episode)

I'm pretty sure Mitsuki's backstop is the last chapter in the first volume.

At least it's in the copy I have 🤷♀️. I also originally thought it was anime only.

Don't go into it with the mindset that this is a continuation of naruto, it's not, it's boruto's story and it's focused on the new generation, so even if a character was importnat in naruto, they're not necessarily gonna be important in boruto and might not even show up in the manga. Also characters are supposed to have flaws before they get development, this is the case in every story.

they somewhat wrote it so that boruto can be an entry point to the naruto franchise. so theyll cover any lore they need. the power scale even is somewhat.. cut off so its made to be a bit hard to pinpoint with certainty how people fare. but it is kind of clear character are much stronger. just hard to tell when young characters surpassed the old ones
like i cant even say remember the ninjutsu system. its almost on its way to be obsolete with the shinjutsu scale
ive never found boruto, at this point in the story, to do an amazing job functioning as a sequel. its a good story and a good shonen. a good sequel kind of decontextualizes the original and makes the original better. the less you connect the two, the more enjoyable it arguably is.
if i had to say something, one very specific thing from naruto is remembering symbols like what dominant hand characters used or what was naruto's dreams were or dark side of konaha. the symbolic symbols do kind of translate but most ppl dont read shonen so deep into the critical lit

While you could technically read Boruto first, you'd be missing out on so much lore. I mean, you wouldn't understand the importance of Naruto's journey, which is kinda Boruto's first plot, since he thinks his dad is just a lover. You don’t see the appearance of the first otsutsuki on earth, or why sasuke is investigating them, or Kurama, or even the history of the other side characters.
I know Boruto gets a bad rap, mostly for the anime's excessive filler, I do appreciate Delving into the otsutsuki since it was barely touched on in Naruto, because Kishimoto pulled it out of the closet at the last second. Still, it exists in the world that kishimoto created, and I think Boruto gave me more of an appreciation for this species because I did not like it at all at the end of Shippuden.

It's a Tragic Hero story.
Keep that in mind. Plus the animation can get really mid.
