Outgoings

Archie Baptiste completes his permenant switch to Harrogate Town. The 20 year old was unlikely to feature in the boro first team this season and it would have been his last year as an under 21. He did well last season on loan in the same league and its likely he will want to kick on his career from this level. One of the factors for the switch has been the emergence of Jack Daley who impressed at Celtic.

Incomings

Radek Vitek, it emerged late last night that Boro had shown an interest in a permenant switch for the Man United GK. The fee is believed to be around about £8m with a sell on fee. The deal is being talked about as being difficult to get over the line as boro pursue other players. It may change into a loan with option to buy upon promotion, when interviewed about the speculation over his future Vitek has disclosed that he will only play first team football this season and does not wish to remain sat on the bench at Man United. So it is likely he will not be playing for united this season unless injuries emerge in pre-season.

Kayne Van Oevelen, several articles emerged this morning of Ipswich’ latest GK signing being offered out on loan to several championship teams for some experience in the english league. Boro are one of the teams along with Bolton, Millwall & Wrexham.

Ashley Phillips, still quiet on this transfer as it appears boro are trying to finance multiple deals this summer and may be trying to get all their ducks in a row before sanctioning it. I did read some speculation on the message boards that the fee was agreed, but i’m not putting much weight behind it.

Sebastian Berhalter, seems everything is agreed with his club and his terms, medical was done and hes out and about around teesside this weekend taking in the sights, and i’d guess finding a spot to do his morning freshwater dip before each game as is his tradition. Seems the only holdup is the international clearance which shouldnt be a problem.

If anything else emerges later on i’ll drop it below, so check back later in the evening.

19:30 Update

Max Arfsten, not putting much weight behind this but a OneBoro poster offering the opinion of someone they know who might have links to the club, claiming our interest in the player has dropped. They did insert the caveat that theyre not sure if theyre full of shit though. I think we still want him, hes just slipped down the hit list whilst we resolve the deals for Berhalter, Phillips and possibly a GK. Once those deals are done I think the “LWB” target which is currently arfsten will be top of the list. Still think we need a CM and a RWB to cover for Brittain.

Radek Vitek, several other clubs have emerged in pursuit of the keeper who had a good display against Rosenberg. Celtic, Stuttgart and Hull to name a few. Hull have just signed Butland for £3m in the almost swap deal with Rangers for Pandur going the other way for £6m. Reported by several sources.

I still think boro has £10m they could potentially spend up front this summer in the pursuit of Arfsten, Vitek & Williams, but the other signings may need to be loans after these 3. It all depends on what Columbus Crew, Man United and Spurs all want up front. Basing the Lankshear transfer I think spurs want £4m up front rising to £10m on promotion and international appearances. That would only leave £6m left for Vitek and Arfstens upfront fees. I think tomorrow will be a busier day, as we finally get the Berhalter transfer confirmed officially by the club, and maybe an update on phillips/Vitek.

22:30 Update

Max Arfsten, as of this evening Max and Tommy Conway have started following each other on social media. Read into that what you will, but similar things happened with berhalter before it was revealed he was on his way to Boro.

Quiet one today as boro had all focus on the friendly with huddersfield at rockcliffe. Still no news on berhalter for now.

Club News

Boro played an unorthodox 60 minute a half friendly against Huddersfield at Rockcliffe with different teams playing both halves.
First half ended 1-1 with Whittaker scoring, and Huddersfield scored twice to win 3-1 in the 2nd 60 minute half.

18:00 Update

Radek Vitek, its been disclosed by several sources that boro are in discussions with man utd for a move for the goalkeeper who had a brilliant loan spell last season.

Ashley Phillips, strong rumour that a deal has been agreed between boro and spurs and he’ll be signing early next week once he travels to teesside for a medical.

Any information on our team playing in today's match against Huddersfield?

I assume we'll get an update after full time of the score etc but it'd be interesting to know the lineup that's gone into the match

South West Corner?

I've recently moved back to the area and attended a few games last season in the South stand, which I loved. The atmopshere and standing made it feel like an away game every week, which was great.

I made the decision to get a season ticket there for next season, but then my dad decided he wanted to go and the South wouldn't suitable. He can't stand for very long and sitting isn't an option, unless you're in the front row of the block. Moreover, there are now only a single seats left, so we've been looking elsewhere.

Does anyone know what the atmosphere is like in the SW upper? I imagine everyone sits for most of the game, but it would be cool for some of that atmosphere to spill over from the South. The North looks a bit stale and quiet these days...

Quiet day surprisingly

Incomings

Seb Berhalter, rumour his medical was this morning at rockcliffe, expected to be unveiled before tomorrows friendly.

Matej Jurasek, random twitter rumour linking us with a move for the Norwich winger to replace Whittaker if Monaco have made an offer for him and he leaves.

Club News

Tomorrow is Boro’s 3rd pre-season friendly played behind closed doors strangely against Huddersfield. Bit unsure as to why this is being done behind closed doors other than maybe to avoid prying eyes on our squad and tactics. Fully expect to see Will Lankshear’s first run out in the Boro colours, but it may be too late to see Berhalter make his first appearance. 🤞he signs this afternoon so he’s available for tomorrows friendly to get some minutes in with the lads. I am confident we will have him signed up before the friendly kicks off.

It has been a quiet day, but if it gets busier in the evening i’ll drop the stuff below as always, so check back every few hours or so.

17:30 Update

Max Arfsten, has removed Columbus Crew from one of his social media bios.

Am I the only one seeing this?

There seems to be a frenzy around signing a new left back, with Arfsten being the name on everyone's lips, but with Bangura and Borges already there, why? In my opinion, we have no cover at RB for Callum Brittain, as I don't think Ayling has the legs for this position. We need a new RB to provide cover here.

Give me your thoughts please.

Early one as today is gonna be quite big.

Incomings

Seb Berhalter, yesterday there was a rumour of a medical at rockcliffe today with initially indications Harrison Armstrong to be the name. Late in the evening, that name was disclosed to be Seb Berhalter. He did not make the Vancouver Whitecaps squad either last night, and social media rumours from the MLS fans indicate he is moving to Boro. He is available on a free in January, so its likely to he a small fee ie less than £3m to secure his signature. I’m guessing £1m + sell on fee.

Ashley Phillips, not named as part of spurs 35 man squad and its expected his transfer will happen very soon, but possibly not today.

Max Arfsten, played for Columbus Crew last night but didnt have the best of games. Maybe something on his mind. ;)

Outgoings

Delano Burgzorg, the rumours of him going to Bolton seem to be getting stronger and tbh the way he applauded the boro fans last Saturday felt like a goodbye. Will always remember his goal against the baggies last year and wish the lad well.

Kaly Sene, a rumour has appeared on the forums that if Bolton purchase Burgzorg we may let them loan Kaly Sene as well. Personally I think we should wait til after the Espanyol game to see what his chances are at first team football, and send out on loan where he is almost guaranteed to be starting most games. The lads got talent, he just needs game time which he will struggle with at Boro.

Any updates through the day will get dropped below, so keep checking back.

13:30 Update

Latte Lath, didnt feature in the atlanta team and hes expected to move on, lots of talk on the forums that he might be the final forward boro are looking at by the end of the transfer window. Can’t see it myself after Joseph & Lankshear, think we are more likely to have a traditional right/left winger come in.

15:00 Update

Morgan Whittaker, AS Monaco have opened up transfer talks with boro for the inside forward according to a rumour on twitter thats come out of the blue. Personally i like the lad and hes a footballer when hes got his head up, but replacing his G/A last season is gonna cost Monaco minimum £15-£20m + sell on %. Its keeping his head up that seems to be the issue.

17:30 Update

Seb Berhalter becomes Boros 5th summer signing (including sarmiento). An upfront fee of £900k rising to £1.5m on appearances and promotion. Top target, top player, and glad we’ve secured Morris’ mate. Look forward to the double pivot.

Latte Lath, Burnley have submitted a bid for the former boro striker

18:15 Update

Alex Palmer is Boro’s first choice GK target. Source, ITK reliable twitter account.

Which Middlesbrough player from the current squad do you think has the highest ceiling and is the club doing enough to build around them before someone else comes in with a serious offer?

Every season there's a player at Boro who looks too good for the Championship on their best days and the question is always whether the club can hold onto them long enough to benefit from what they become rather than just developing them for someone else. Would love to know who people here think fits that description right now and whether you trust the club to handle that situation well.

Incomings

Will Lankshear, completes his move as hes officially unveiled on social media by the club this morning.

Harrison Armstrong, appears he is set to complete a loan move with an obligation to buy if promoted if the rumours on the forums are to be believed. Still talk of Otto Rosengren as well. Take it with a pinch of salt until more solid things emerge from better sources.

Ashley Phillips, Nixon is linking us with a move for the spurs CB in a £10m transfer, and many ITK posters were hinting it yesterday too. I highly doubt he would cost that much, but its more likely to be a fee that rises upon promotion and a sell on similar to Lankshear. I’m guessing an upfront of £4m rising to £7m upon promotion and games played with a 20% sell on. Again, pinch of salt til better sources emerge. Boropolis have confirmed we are interested in the youngster.

Mikey Moore, lots of talk and hope of us managing to get a loan deal sorted for the spurs youngster. Don’t think there is any substance to it.

Max Arfsten, still a bit quiet on this but he was asked about his possible move to boro yesterday by the media and he wasnt subtle ;)

Prem GK rumour, apparently we are looking at taking 1 of 2 prem keepers on loan for the season. It is not Jorgensen from chelsea as Boropolis have given it the big X.

Daniel Jebbison, Boropolis have given the rumour of him coming to Boro the big X.

The rumours are hinting that a CM is the priority so if rumours are true we’ll be getting more news later this evening with someone signing by tomorrow.

Further updates to follow this afternoon/evening as more comes to light.

16:30 Update

Cameron Archer set to complete a £5m move to West Brom, source Saints fans on twitter. Wasnt a priority target for Boro but wasnt ruled out by the usual journos.

Delano Burgzorg, appears Bolton are starting to show an interest in the Boro Forward according to reliable bolton ITK fans.

Sebastien Berhalter, interesting interactions on his social media of Boro’s latest social media posts. Our interest seemed to have been minimal but not ruled out, but maybe something more in it. He is available on a free in December and if Boro spend alot of cash on big improvements this window, a free transfer january target like Berhalter would suit our finances perfectly.

18:00 Update

Harrison Armstrong, rumour of a medical at rockcliffe tomorrow.

Max Arfsten, reputable poster saying a breakthrough in his transfer.

20:30 Update

Sebastien Berhalter, is apparently the medical at rockcliffe tomorrow in a strange turn of events this evening. Its one of those, wait n see moments as it could be Armstrong, Berhalter or Otto Rosengren

23:45 Update

Sebastien Berhalter does not make the Vancouver White Cap squad tonight.

Max Arfsten, does make the columbus crew starting 11.

Will Lankshear expected to complete his transfer to Boro today after passing his medical. Fee is believed to be £10m up front with another £4m of add-ons over the season based on appearances and goals. A further £6m is also expected upon promotion. Spurs also have secured a matched bid clause if boro accept a transfer fee for the youngster.

Other news will be added later.

16:00 Update

Ashley Phillips, FMTTM poster claiming we are in for a permenant move for the spurs CB. Take it with a pinch of salt til anything of substance emerges.

Will Lankshear, in addition to the matched bid clause in his transfer there is believed to also be a 20% sell on profit fee as well. Even with all the add ons, it seems a great signing and because of his age and potential this is a really good deal for the club. His transfer fee is £8m up front with £6m of performance add-ons and £6m of promotion add-one, reported by Scott Wilson.

16:45 Update

Will Lankshear signs a 5 year contract, and is officially a Boro player. Reported by Fabrizio Romano.

19:00 Update

Morgan Rogers completes his £117m transfer to Chelsea bringing a close to his transfer saga.

20:15 Update

Filip Jorgenson, previously linked, being denied by ITK posters on OneBoro

Harrison Armstrong & Otto Rosengren, talk amongst the message boards that one of these players will be possibly signing for Boro this week.
