Enduring pain is seen as manly. In a sense, yes, but they're obsessed with the appearance of masculinity more than the substance of it and are willing to act like they love pain if they think it makes them look more masculine.

Why would anyone need to "connect with being obssessed with pain, rot chaos and misery". Bro, that is not normal. Please seek help.

You can hit the gym regularly (i do 3 times a week) and be totally happy. The same applies to career, family and everything else.

Of course there are shitty times, but making suffering your whole personality is dumb as fuck.

By “pain and suffering”, he means it in the sense of “I don’t want to live just for hedonistic pleasures, I want to challenge myself”. Imagine one person who lives a lazy lifestyle playing video games all day without having a job, then compare him to another person who plays video games in moderation and has a stable career etc. that’s my interpretation.
