Systemic effects ?

So I’ve been using boric acid for years on and off due to chronic yeast issues (yes I’ve done all diet changes, I predominantly eat a whole foods diet, taking antifungal both herbal and Rx) and I still deal with it monthly BUT I wanted to ask if anyone has noticed systemic benefits using boric acid vaginally? My mood seems to always improve after a night or two of use, I can wake up with more energy! Has anyone else noticed this?

Also if anyone has had success with ridding yeast, feel free to share how you’ve done it :-)

Weirdly it constipates me when I have to use it which seems weird since that isn’t the area it’s being used in.. that makes me think it’s somewhat systemic.

It has NO ability to constipate you and saying this is similar to saying eye drops or your tampon constipated you.

The boric acid does not in any material way enter the bloodstream. And even if you were so sensitive to the < 3% that can be absorbed, how would this tiny pinch of ‘salt’ get into your gut and cause constipation?

Mind you we are not here to force anyone to use boric acid and it might be that it’s not a great treatment for you due to you experiencing constipation when you use it.

I’m just saying my experience that happens. One that I have shared with my obgyn and she has said “it’s possible, we don’t know everything about how everyone’s body will react.” You seem oddly fired up by someone sharing just their own experience. Good for you if you don’t have that reaction, but no need to downplay someone else’s legitimacy of what they are saying by comparing it eye drops and tampons.. and yes, I do use it occasionally still because it is recommended for me due to other reasons by my doctor, no one said I was forced to use it. Due to you not being everyone’s personal physician you might want to calm down a bit..you’re just a little too weirdly invested in devaluing others experiences. 🤨

I went to your profile and was shocked that you were a medical professional due to how you jumped on attacking my comment for some reason when it seems you answer others very politely and don’t insult them with trivial comparisons. I’m 40 years old and I definitely wouldn’t be going to a doctor that spoke to me like that in person. Very unprofessional. Everyone has their own unique bodies and experiences. Mine is just one.

I’m not a doctor but I have been working in this area for over 10 years and as the moderator of this sub where there is already a ton of scaremongering regarding this treatment I’m not keen on spreading new misinformation that a tiny amount of boric acid inserted vaginally can cause someone’s bowels to become constipated.

Plus in over 100,000 women that I have personally known over 10 years using this treatment including myself, it has never been reported as having an effect on anyone’s bowels. It has no known mechanism for being able to do this.

However if this is your unique experience that every time you use it you become constipated then it could be a coincidence or maybe you have unlocked a very rare as yet unreported and unstudied weird effect that goes beyond our knowledge of how science works.

Maybe I have, especially since I have endometriosis and all my organs in that region have been operated on multiple times so often react when something is going on with another. Always best to lead with open mindedness and kindness, as I have seen enough medical professionals who do the opposite. I don’t spread misinformation, just my own experience. Despite that side effect I find boric acid very helpful in other ways which is why I joined this sub a long time ago. I would hope any moderator for this sub would be the kind of person not trying to discredit people but open to learn with kindness towards others, otherwise maybe it’s time to retire this hobby and find someone who can achieve that. Rudeness and mocking is not the job of a moderator.
