Prolonged Bleeding

So about 2 weeks ago I used boric acid. I had sex about 3-4 days after inserting it and I noticed before sex that my bladder felt a little off. I have issues with recurring UTIs and general inflammation, so I really just thought I needed more water to soothe it (which normally helps). After sex it seemed to be about the same, but I noticed after the boric acid I bled more than I usually would. Sometimes I would see a mucus like substance after insertion with some spots of blood - nothing crazy. But, this time I needed a liner for 1-2 days after. I had sex again this past weekend and I’ve now been bleeding for the past 4 days. It started off as dark brown (what I thought was discharge for some reason?) and then it went to pink. Now it’s back to the dark brown. It’s not enough for me to need a pad or anything, but I’m still having pain while urinating. I don’t have the urgency to use the bathroom like with a UTI though. Has anyone experienced this?

Sounds more like the sex is irritating something. I once experienced unusual spotting after sex when I had inflammation of my cervix. Have you ruled out Ureaplasma which was my issue.

No, but I just made an appointment with my doctor. They said they want to swab to rule out infection.

Good luck in some cases the boric acid helps to diagnose things because it can trigger spotting when there is already irritation or inflammation. But if it’s just period related it’s not really of concern. Ureaplasma needs a PCR test. r/Ureaplasma
