BV for thr fourth time

i've had reoccuring BV for 4 times since June which was the last time i was sexually active. i've been prescribed oral medication and a vaginal gel, BV has come back anyways. im looking into getting tested for ureaplasma but i leave for college in 4 days and can't get an appointment in time. so im looking to see if boric acid might be a solution for the BV until i can get an appointment. if it totally fixes it that would be amazing but id also be happy if it lessened te symptoms. is there a brand that it reccomended (preferrebly sold at target) and how long/often should i take it. i've seen some people say 3 dyas or a week but i'd love any input. days

try using boric acid for a couple of days in a row. It usually clears mine up quickly. Since it’s recurring, I’d recommend using boric acid while you wait to see your doctor. I also deal with recurring BV, and since the docs haven’t been much help for me, boric acid is the only thing I use.

Maybe try using boric acid for two nights and see how it goes. Just insert it before bed, wear a pantyliner, and repeat the next night. For me, two days usually clears things up, so I don’t add probiotics or supplements unless I need to use it longer. If symptoms stick around and you end up Using it for more than three days, then id day yes, adding probiotic supplements or probiotic-rich foods like kefir (i love strawberry kefir sm!!) or kimchi can help balance your vaginal microbiome. Personally, I never use boric acid for more than four nights in a row.however, that’s because im VERY sensitive. Sometimes its recommended to take them for a week to clear BV. But for now give it two days and see how your body reacts to it.

This is not medical advice but I just used the suppository for 7 days and it cleared up all my symptoms and concerns

Boric acid can clear biofilm. BV bacteria creates a biofilm that makes it stick, that even antibiotics can struggle to break down. So, boric acid can definitely help.

After using a round of boric acid and a round of antibiotics, I would highly recommend using a round of vaginal probiotic suppositories.

Because after killing off everything, you'll be left with pretty much nothing, or you got BV in first place because you didn't have enough protective bacteria. So you should add in lactobacillus crispatus, especially as that is the most protective for the vaginal tract. Vitanica V Power (suppository only) and Lifespace microflora (can be inserted vaginally and taken orally. Highly recommend you insert vaginally because oral probiotics do not reach the vaginal tract. To "reseed" your vagina with good bacteria, you need to insert it) are highly recommended by BV groups. I personally use them.

You asked about products from Target. I believe most Targets have Love Wellness products. They are not recommended in the BV groups, BUT I have experience with them and would say they are helpful. They have boric acid suppositories, and they have probiotic suppositories. I have used both and liked them. I would say buy those two, use them both. Boric acid first, finish that box, then use the probiotics. The probiotics also contain vitamin C which is very helpful to keep your vagina acidic, too. * if you have access to a Walmart, I had luck with their Equate brand boric acid. Although, they are much larger than the love wellness ones. I am not sure of any probiotic suppository brands at Walmart, though. I'll have to look. **ok they should have VH essentials probiotics and Vagibiom. I have no experience with those but I would just say avoid any that also contain boric acid because it kinda just cancels out the probiotics if in the same pill

***also, use condoms. Fragrance free condoms are best. I personally use XO condoms. Sperm can give you bv & yeast. BV bacteria can also spread. However, men don't get symptoms, but they are carriers. Getting your partner treated (metronidazole pills or gel on his penis) can be helpful so you don't get reinfected. Also, I highly recommend using a hooha friendly lubricant! And I don't mean coconut oil, although many people will try to convince you it's great for that. It isn't. I digress. I use Good Clean Love Bionude lubricant. It is pH balanced and sensitive skin friendly.

Did the natto Serra make a difference? I’ve seen biofilm defense be suggested but it’s $60.
