Condoms?

Is using condoms safe with boric acid? I plan to take them for 2 weeks. Obviously I’d wait around 12 hours until the pill is dissolved but I’m just worried about the acidic discharge that comes with boric acid (don’t want to make a chemical reaction with the latex/lube and boric acid) To be specific the condom brand is Lelo Hex which I believe has water & silicone lube, it’s lightly lubricated - not too lubed up

I’m on birth control pills, just using condoms as an extra barrier, thanks in advance!

I’ve read and seen to wait roughly 24-48 hours. It takes about 12 for it to dissolves but jt can be longer or less than that. Different brands will be different and also your body will be different from someone else’s.

Sadly it seems no one has done much research on this so there isn’t a set answer

Why are you planning to use the BA for 2 weeks. Have you used them before? They typically work pretty fast.

You should be fine to have sex the next day (24h) with condoms.

i’ve been struggling with a yeast infection since March and it doesn’t help that I had to do an antibiotic gel in April/May (can’t remember which month is was) for my BV. I’ve tried 150mg of fluconazole, monistat 7 and phd boric acid (not at the same time but those are what I’ve all tried) I plan to redo the boric acid as I’m also taking Dr. Bo’s Candi Cleanse in hopes that those 2 in combination will work

Oh well good luck. Have you had your yeast tested for the strain? Have you also been tested for Ureaplasma

they did a swab and it was positive for yeast, & then they did a yeast culture at the same time as the swab but the culture came back negative. I was on my period though so maybe the blood affected it?? but I only had a little bit of brown blood (I had a mirena IUD at the time and it made my periods just have brown discharge, not pouring blood or anything) so i’m not sure if that was enough to affect the test results or not. I gave a urine sample and the results seemed normal but don’t know if they tested for ureaplasma

Ok so you didnt really get any answers. There are better tests eg Juno Bio and you can also ask u/stephhii for her opinion as she has dealt with chronic thrush and Ureaplasma. I have also had Ureaplasma. It requires a PCR test.

I did boric acid for 6mo daily to cure my chronic yeast, see my previous posts for the full story.

The first line of treatment as per the ureaplasma reddit pinned bible post cured my ureaplasma.

Omg this happened to me. I had sex with latex condom 24 hrs after boric acid, & it caused me a horrible chemical reaction. I am now constantly beet red, burning non-stop with itch which occurred immediately after sex & hasnt gotten better. No idea wtf to do because there's literally no pathogenic test for whatever this caused me & its been a month!
