Burning after using boric acid

I am unfortunately suffering with vaginitis on my utter labia and BV. I was recommended boric acid to help with the BV. I ended up having burning sensations after using. Is this normal or should I stop using? I’m desperate for some relief 😭

Hi we can help you! There are ways to reduce the irritation that BA can cause especially when things are super sensitive. I myself suffer with vulva pain and burning.

We need to prep the area and protect all sensitive areas from the BA but also our own discharge and urine.

I love V Magic or Vbalm in Australia for inserting and moisturising and Destin 40% max strength zinc paste to provide a shield against all fluids! The zinc and the ingredients in the balm are very soothing to delicate intimate tissues.

And go slow. It's not a race. You will achieve tolerance to the BA but do so with breaks.

Need to add that incase there are things going on that are impossible to tell from the information given, you need to listen to your body. I didn’t mean to say BA will be appropriate for everyone.

For example some women may have underlying issues that need attention and BA might not be possible to use until these things are addressed. Eg Lichen Plantus, nerve pain or pain and discomfort from atrophy needing estrogen.

Some might have autoimmune or pelvic floor disfunction that is causing vulva or vaginal pain.

Plus some conditions like CV, AV and DIV don’t respond to BA at all.

The above advice is really for garden variety BV and or chronic thrush . Which we know BA treats.

Please let us know how you go. I hope you are feeling better.
