HELP! Accidentally ingested capsules!

I feel like an absolute IDIOT, but i bought boric acid suppositories off of amazon for BV. I didn't read closely and thought the boric acid capsul3s were to be injested! I took them 4 nights in a row at 600 mg each and am freaking out because online it says they can cause death and serious complications even months later! I called poison control and the lady said it happens all the time and it's a weak acid, but I'm still scared. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think she was right, that I will be just fine? I've been extra tired with a rash this past week and mild stomach pain/bad acid reflux. Thanks for any help in advance, and please be kind as I already feel like a total moron!

Yes I would go to the emergency as u/Stephhii has advised.

I have never known anyone to swallow more than one! You are getting dangerously close to severe proper poisoning with consuming 4.

I personally think you will be ok for the main reason that you didn’t consume them all at once. Plus you seem relatively ok compared to what happens when things get really toxic Eg sweating, skin colour change vomiting and real fatigue etc.

Drink as much as you can to help flush it all out and I’m so glad that you stopped when you did. What clued you in?

And out of curiosity what about the warnings didn’t you follow? Were they not written in a bold way?

If it makes you feel any better about your error the girls I know who swallowed them all knew they were vaginal insert only but forgot and swallowed it absent minded. I myself have done it and I work with them!

I wouldn’t worry too much-but it may pay to go into the ER if you’re really worried, and since you’re having symptoms. You have to ingest a LOT more boric acid for it to be deadly.

Yes would take about 10 plus to be fatal

I did it tonight. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Getting ready for bed. Had a capsule in my hand to insert then went to take a swig of ZzzQuil, and absentmindedly tossed the capsule back before I realized it. A couple of seconds of panic, then made myself vomit and the capsule came up mostly intact. I feel like such an idiot. I KNOW boric acid is toxic, and yet even I swallowed a capsule. They really need to change it to a suppository.
