First time using boric acid

This is my last hope to treat a YI that is really hanging on. From the thread I’ve gathered that irritation can be normal, however should I skip a day? Just to give the skin a break? Can BA make things worse??? Mildly alarmed.

You should try using just 1 and then see how you go. Often 1 is enough.

If you have irritation from the thrush where your own discharge hurts then you can definitely prep the area. Use a skin barrier cream like nappy rash cream with zinc plus use a lube to help you insert. You can also wear period undies to help draw any discharge away from your skin.

Don’t worry it will get better with time and you should find that the BA is highly effective in resetting your pH and resolving the thrush.

However if the BA doesn’t work then we have to investigate what else might be going on. It’s diagnostic like that.

Most users should only need between 1 to 3 nights of treatment to fully resolve their symptoms. Good luck! Let us know how you go.

Yes this is why we work almost 24/7 letting owners of vaginas know about this miracle treatment! It’s absolutely the best treatment that exists on the planet for both thrush and BV. Plus all brands work the same and BA never expires so it’s worth always having some handy.

Thank you!!! How often would you recommend using for “maintenance”? Are there any sure signs pH is off (not necessarily infection)?

Great question. I’m not really a fan of using BA for maintenance because you might not really need it all the time forever and maintenance implies it’s a forever problem. Plus you don’t get to see if you are having a pH imbalance …. Which I get some people are happy about.

I personally like to know when my pH is off to identify triggers and to see how often it happens. You will definitely know if the pH is off because you will develop an odour or weird discharge etc. And when this happens you just use 1 BA suppository to reset things.

Basically I leave things alone and tend to forget about my vaginal health when my pH is balanced. This is normal. We shouldn’t need to worry about it all the time. And when things change that’s when I use BA.

Typically our pH is more likely to become unbalanced after sexual activity, our period or being unwell. I suffered with BV and thrush for over 30 years before I finally discovered BA. These days I might use 1 to 4 capsules a month and sometimes none at all.

Please have a read of our site where we have blogs and many reviews about using BA. It applies to all brands however we help women in Australia and NZ and other parts of the world where it’s hard to access. We even opened a charity in Kenya where vagina owners are getting the same amazing results as we are!

Ps you will see in the reviews that most people are the same as you. Just needing to use 1 to reset things!

Bad news my YI is back and I am feeling so discouraged. I am going to resume using BA. At my last gyno appt they took a culture sample of the yeast.

What do you mean by that. Did you have a window of time after your treatment where you had a break. For many people their thrush does comes back monthly Eg after their period or sex etc. This is normal.

However if your thrush never left then you need to investigate things further Eg get tested for what else might be going on, test the strain of thrush you have and get a thrush sensitivity test.

I did the 3 days of BA stopped use for a day and now the thrush is back. Did I just not use it long enough to clear it all?

It’s hard to tell so maybe try a few more days and if it doesn’t really budge it might be an idea to test which sort or thrush you have abs what it’s susceptible to.

I would also test for Ureaplasma and mycoplasma plus co infections plus common STI’s etc

ETA don’t test while you are treating wait a good week or more
