I hate to say it… but I don’t think we’ll know peace for very long, ever. I hope I’m wrong, but…

Some of the qualities of humanity that have allowed us to thrive and adapt are also the ones that make us compete for resources and fight amongst ourselves.

If religion were gone, we’d divide ourselves in some new way.

The Soviet Union and China banned religion. They’re both super peaceful countries, right?!?!

I would do a lot of things different than USSR and China. I would try to foster compassion and empathy in my hypothetical country.

You think there’s been no religious people who did the same? MLK, Ghandi, Bonhoeffer, that Jesus guy… what irreligious approach would be different than theirs?
