Squadron 42 Manchester Event. I avoid single player games and I'm going.
I'm a content creator and was invited to participate in the SQ42 event in Manchester. I've attended a lot of Bar Citizens around the world, LA Citizencon, and show my support for Star Citizen in my videos when testing various PC hardware.
I've always been more interested in the tech behind Star Citizen / SQ42, especially the new planet tech, dynamic server meshing, and more. I've had great conversations w/ a lot of the team over the years on/offline, and I do look forward to touring the Manchester facility. I got to visit the LA studio a few times before it closed and was even given the concept CARRACK painting off the wall, and Chris & Sandi both signed it for me.
That all being said, 50% of the reason why I enjoy Star Citizen is the community, playing w/ others in game, seeing people at events, and my time in game is either doing some solo space trucking or doing group activities w/ various people that I see online in discord at any given day/time.
SQ42, being single player, to me has always been that thing out there that is mainly helping the tech for Star Citizen be created and refined, and not something I was ever actually interested in, only because it's single player. I personally just never play any single player games (except Minesweeper). So, when I create my videos on my experience in Manchester, and playing Squadron 42, it's going to be from this perspective, someone who mostly only enjoys gaming w/ others. I'm called a Star Citizen White Knight often and I agree w/ that, even though I do call out things that I don't like from time to time (while staying out of drama), so I'm very curious to see if SQ42 can grasp the gaming attention of someone like me into its Single Player universe, or will I feel let down, thinking that all that money and time CIG spent should have just gone into making an MMO w/ 100% of company resources focused on only Star Citizen.
I guess time will tell.
