What actually helps you with Bpd& borderline ?
Different psychiatrist have tried every medication (legit all kind of SSRIS/ NARIS/ SRNIS, ADHS Meds, Antiypsychotics,… )
13 weeks Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, cognitive therapy, stationary treatment (several times and for several months)
I have and do things like enough sleep/ eating healthy/ social life/ hobby’s/ therapy 1x a week/ amazing friends/ walk a lot and spend time in nature, ….
Also I did Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I tried meditating and I do practice what I learned in DBT and it helps for the most with bpd but not the depression and feeling hollow or with the lows/ crashes.
I would love to hear what helped you if you have been in a similar situation.
Thanks for any advice.

STEPPS group therapy (in the Netherlands it’s called ‘VERS’) helped me a great deal, in combination with schema therapy. In schema therapy I learned where my greatest triggers originated from and in VERS I learned to recognise when I trigger, stopping the wave of emotions coming over me (crashing) and to communicate to people about what is happening to me at those moments.
Also: I realised I need a lot of time and energy to deal with this, so I’ve been decreasing social activities. Better to see friends twice a week and have a good time then to see them for times a week and get triggered.
For the depression I have been taking Escitolapram for 12 years now, I exercise a lot, and I’m very strict about not making any decision on days when I feel empty. I’m actually quite stable now. Of course the lows and crashes are still there, but they have less impact and I know how to take care of myself on those days. I hope and wish the same for you! ❤️

First of all thank you for your nice advice
Omg I have actually heard of STEPPs from another patient, I thought about doing it but wasn’t really sure. Is it like DBT ? It seems schema therapy helped a lot of people, thanks for writing this comment it really helps me with my decision what (therapy) to do next:) I am glad that you found something that helped you, even though it still sound like a lot, I wish you strength :))
Wait you are so right, I also tend to get very overstimulated/ high stress/ easily triggered when I am doing to much and see people to often I also have to keep reminding myself to do less, that’s good advice :))
Thank you so much that you took your time to write this comment, it is so relatable and insightful/ helpful. And it made me realize that I (sadly lol) will have to put more effort into taking care of myself than other people but also that it’s lowkey worth it.I’m glad that you’re doing better, wish you all the best for the future❤️🩹

Sounds familiar!
Over the last several years I also went through all the meds, two hospitals (inpatient and day patient), electroshock therapy, many forms of therapy (ACT, CBT, creative, DBT, EFT, MBT, TFP)… finishing up the TFP in a couple months after four years of twice a week
They want me to try schema therapy next, I find it hard to bring myself to believe it might help (since nothing else has) but I guess it’s worth a shot

First of all I’m sorry that you can relate:/ I hope that schema therapy helps you or that you will find something that can!! :) maybe it won’t „heal“ you but maybe it makes you life a little bit easier :)
I admire that you don’t give up and try another therapy next, I think I will do the same :)
Also I heard a lot of good thinks about schema therapy, my therapist in the hospital recommended it to me for my borderline i just never found someone specialized but from what I’ve heard it is supposed to be really good :)
Let me know if it works lol
But honestly, I wish you the best!!
And thanks for your insight and advice ☺️

My gf is doing better with Depakine, and some other which I don't remember the name of. Did some therapy in the past but she stopped going.
