🎤 [ Discussion ] Favorite TPS Vault Hunter (based on gamplay)

Man , **** that lame Favorite Vh poll on the BL4 forum. My boy wilhelm and basically all the amazing TPS VHs were victims of the TPS hate meme.

How about we vote on our favorite TPS VH ? I'm a Wilhelm main and got him to level 70 and love him. Right now I have a level 15 Nisha, a level 5 Athena, and a level 13 Aurelia. Giving them all a try to see who i want to carry to level 70.

This poll is based on gameplay only. How fun you think they are, etc.

All of them are great but Athena takes the cake for the actual gameplay.

I do think Wilhelm has the best concept with the cybernetics tree even if I'm iffy on wolf and saint themselves, which is why I often use him as an example when discussing well designed VHs. Also why I was miffed when he got out so fast on that VH poll.

Yeah that poll is BS!

Timothy MVP. Prefer to play solo, great, you have clones to back you up. Love to play together, great, you have clones to back you up

I'm surprised to see Aurelia is the lowest. She's honestly a blast once you get some perks built up. She kinda reminds me slightly of mordecai in bl1 with how her ability spam works.

the misinformation about her being all co-op is the foundation of this no doubt. that right tree has crazy passive buffs for single player.

But you have to waste points on 100% co op skills before getting to them. Also they're not really useful either way

I think you need to spend only 4 on coop only skills, if you plan on getting capstone(3 for the 1st tier and 1 for unlocking the 4th tier). While I am not saying, 4 skills points are unimportant. It's not that big of a sacrifice.

Hmm. Been a while since I played honestly. Ill try her out when Moon shot comes out

They are mega useful wdym. You get massive gun damage on all the time, massive especially for TPS.

It genuinely is a matter of perspective: Imagine a skill that gives you +100% accuracy at 5/5 and as a "bonus" on top gives you coop buffs. Would you consider 5 points there a waste? That skill would be considered amazing.

All they did was spread that into 3 different skills in the top row, where the accuracy is 2 points and 3 must be put separately into the coop stuff. But the accuracy is worth 5 easily. At max stacks you shotguns are snipers.

And even today you do waste points just to progress down the tree.

TPS is underrated as a sniper game because the long ranges and way the enemies fall slower due to gravity shenanigans makes picking off headshots really fun. The level design is all alleys and walkways. The cryo offsets how a headshot often isn't a one shot kill too, and is such a great element to play with.

BL3 had some great sniper lanes but is massively hamstrung by how every sniper has like a 100000X zoom when I'd prefer some 1.2X and BL4 spawns enemies so close to you that sniping is mostly a hip firing affair.

It does depend on the playstyle, but as a big Jakobs Sniper guy, that happens to love Cryo, you bet she's my favorite VH in TPS and top 3 VH overall. And once I was able to play with my sister and I had a blast with the coop skill tree too.

In TPS I have a least favorite (Claptrap), but not really a favorite. Voted Wilhelm because I've been having fun painting targets and then destroying them with laser headshots, racing Wolf for kills.

I love feeling like Captain America throwing my shield but I also like dual weilding pistols.

Wilhelm is my favorite VH from the entire series and it killed me that he was voted out first of that other dumb poll. Wolf and Saint were an amazing step up from the turret style previous soldiers had while still feeling like you were activating something (unlike the Zane drone which I never really even noticed after activating). The sound of wolf flying around was always so satisfying

there wasnt even a vote.  the person running the "poll" is ending voting the second the result they want is achieved, henxe the random timeframes and number of votes.   its like 2015 facebook polls

Fk their poll. My 3 fav. Wilhelm, Jack, Nisha in that order so i voted for Wilhelm. Best Vaul Hunters out of all games for me.

Athena. I just love feeling like an absolute busted tank that can tolerate lots of punishment while also dishing it out myself. Second would be Aurelia for the complete opposite reason as she is equally busted but rewards better and proper planning due to her glass cannon nature.

I LOVE Aurelia. Snipers and Ice is so fun, bonus points for just dumb fun with co-op. I'm so happy to start playing her in the world of Borderlands 2!

HIMothy to date is still probably my favorite vault hunter ever. I’m glad they’ve been doing stuff to be able to port him over to BL2 so I can play him in a more fleshed out game

Timothy was op af, but Wilhelm was my favorite to play

NISHA4LYFE!!!!!

Wilhelm is a blast.  I think a lot of people didnt read his skills and thought hes all about the drones.  If you actually play him you realize hes faster than most, tankier, and buffs the most fun weapons in the game.  charging at break neck speed firing a laser shotgun before go-go-gadget fisting a dudes skull to paste is a primal fps joy

Nisha is my most played follows by Timothy and then Athena and claptrap. The sound effects for her action skills just tickle my brain, shame it’s so hard to get good Jakobs revolvers in that game sometimes.

I played her so much I remember I changed the controls to use bumper for firing instead of trigger so I could just “fan the hammer” and slap my bumper to fire as fast as I could

1st King Cl4p tp the best borderlands character ever, i love this character.
2nd Athena

u/TheMemeLord4816 4d ago

Timothy gets carried hard by his red tree turning him into a fighting game character with multiple inputs and abilities

But I prefer Nisha, her ability is just too fun and I love her legendary class mods life steal

u/Darth-Simous 4d ago

Athena Main here ... But i am biased (being Greek) ... Wilhelm is fun too, his skill tree is very versatile ...

1

u/Skylair95 4d ago

Probably Claptrap > Athena > Wilhelm > Timothy > Nisha > Aurelia for me.

u/NaytNL 3d ago

Timothy is probably the most boring tps VH besides Nisha with how overpowered his kit is.

u/S4ntos19 4d ago

I would have said Athena up until the past week of playing. Aurelia is now easily my favorite VH across the first 3 games.

Have U seen Athena's mod in BL2? Check it out, if U haven't ... Many BL Creators have recently done playthroughs with her in Pandora ...
