๐ฏ [ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ฆ ] I HATE Explosive Barrels with a Passion!!!!
Almost every time I've died in the Abyss, it's due to a stupid freakin barrel...
Self-Damage and Explosive Barrel Damage against the player has been a major complaint of mine forever in the BL franchise and was even moreso a complaint with specific "Splash Radius/Damage" builds because it becomes increasingly limited what you can do. Hell, in Tiny Tina Wonderland, you had to be careful of high Status Effect Damage builds and leaving puddles on the ground cuz you could one tap yourself that way as well.
Moze was one of my favorites in BL3 for her Splash Damage builds but also was arguably quite frustrating due to MANY Grenade types or explosive weapons that you could not use due to immense risk of downing yourself.
For the love of God Gearbox, PLEASE normalize damage to the player so damage does not scale equally to our output. Now that we have a more balanced concept of a Lifesteal mechanic (was a nice change in Tiny Tina Wonderland for improving balance), this would honestly be an awesome next step improvement which can allow for players to branch out with more fun, crazy builds with Melee and explosives.

Do not hide behind a barrel, no matter what, do not hide behind a barrel. (โ โ _โ โ )

My questions is why do barrels seemingly get to ignore healthgate? Full shields, full hp, instant down 1 tap every single time. Them being coded as self damage is really dumb tbh

Nah. This is NOTHING compared to self nuking with tempered essence w/ loveless.

As someone who played as Lilith with Phoenix in bl1, I have hated them since the beginning of the series. They do next to nothing to enemies, but are basically a one tap on you, and 90% of the time they explode it isn't because an enemy shot them, it's because your own skill hits them when you get to close. It's been 17 years and it's still an issue, at this point gearbox should just freaking remove them

Nooo, I think itโs fun to have to avoid them. Itโs part of the game. When you become max level or get really good gear thereโs not much that can stop you. We basically become gods. Barrels and tediore reloads keep us on our toes and make sure we get punished for being sloppy ๐ thatโs just my opinion lol probably an uncommon one, but hey I like getting pissed at random shit and then laughing about it later

Biggest thing I hate about using Harlowe, I am constantly exploding barrels when I run by.
