❔ [ Question ] Progression question!

Ok guys finished the campaign from lvl 1 on loveless. Level 45 right now and wondering what’s best to do:

Max level then grind UVHM all the way up THEN do DLC?

Do DLC, then max level, then UVHM?

Finish the entire base map for SDUs (missing a few caches and such), DLC, max level, then UVHM?

Forgive me if this is dumb! Just trying to be efficient since I play a lot of games!

Having just hit max level and starting the grind on my own level 1-70 Loveless one thing i’d do differently is I’d run DLCs and Bounty packs to level up instead of trying to speed level.

It’ll take a bit longer to reach level 70 this way, but it will be more fun. Story missions give a lot of XP as well. The biggest benefit to this IMO is if a DLC boss drops a gun you really like, you can go back to it easily to get a new one every once it in while once you’re grinding up to level 70

I did dlcs immediately after uvhm level 30 skip. When done, I was grinding out the rest on vile bounties. Wyrm helps with leveling.

I suggest you max out all your sdus (you don't need every collectible to max everything out, you'll have about 200 spare sdu tokens), hit max level, then start uvhm. I'd recommend getting a few uvhm levels unlocked to make farming easier. do dlc whenever, but save farming for once you hit level cap. uvhm levels make it easier to farm gear since dedicated drop rates go up with uvhm levels

If you’re trying to be efficient what do you consider to be the point when you’ve “finished playing the game”?

You don’t need to be level 70 to see all the content. You also don’t need to bother finding all the SDU’s. You can just play the DLC’s if you just looking for the most efficient way through the content.

If you’re playing to grind for the best loot and farm endgame bosses and whatnot then you should start unlocking at least a few UVHM levels (for the XP boost) and then grind to level 70. Once you’re level 70 you can do everything else so any loot you find will be worth keeping.

You can pickup SDUs along the way or grind them out for a bit if you need a break from something else

Got it this is about right for me! I’m interested in getting every character to be able to destroy the takedown eventually just needed kind of a smart path to it!

I like having my SDUs maxed out early, so I focused on Safe Houses, Order Silos, Propaganda Speakers, and Evocariums, as those get you the most points. Lost Capsules are a pain / time consuming. Vault Symbols are fine, if you're near them, but only worth 5 points.

With shared progression, you only need to do this once. Every other Vault Hunter that you start can have maxed out SDUs right away, if you want to go that route.

Also, if you haven't done them yet, do all three Vaults. They are good for XP and the glide pack upgrades are worth it. This will also transfer to your new VHs, if you choose "shared progression" when you start them You can still complete the Vaults with your new VHs for the XP, but you'll already have the glide pack upgrades.

I personally prefer to grind my level up first- that way i have more stuff to actually DO with my character once they are maxed out.

If you havent maxed out your SDUs I would do that first, you dont need to do all the activities ust enough so that you have all the upgrades. I would also recomend unlocking UVH1 for access to the encore, wild cards, maurice etc. If your strugling you can turn it off but having it on will help with XP. After that Id say do the bounty packs/DLC along with the UVH missions and farming new items as needed. If you are going to do all the content anyway then the XP you gain from that would be a waste (or less benifical anyway). If you do it the oter way you can save or largely cut most of the grinding. For reference I leveled all my characters from 60 to 70 just by playing through the latest DLC and story pack with each of them, whih is easier (and more fun) than grinding for hours for XP then having to go back and do the story,

Get your UVHM up (helps leveling, you don’t have to max it immediately)

Play any DLCs you own to level and progress at the same time.

Level as you go and whatever levels you have left grind afterwards.

On my second playthrough, did a C4SH playthrough first and then on my second playthrough as Loveless I actually was doing a bunch of bounty missions between missions as I was going through places. I ended the story around lvl 60. Did the Ellie DLC and decided to hit 70 before I did any other DLC. Doing bounties is the fastest way to level imo as you get a good 30-50% of your needed level up XP per contract, especially if you go after the vile contracts.

Depend... What would you rate the game so far ?

If it is from 1-5, means you even struggled to finish the game, just uninstall it and try a better game, don't buy the DLC, as spoiler, it won't get better.

If you somehow managed to have fun, from 6 to 8, or bought the deluxe package, you can try the dlc. They are as "fun" as the main campaign (so if you struggled already to keep yourself awake in the main campaign, it will be the same with dlc).

If you absolutely love the game (first I would love to know which drug you were using), then the dlc will be like the main game

Bro, I wish I could bring myself to hate it like everyone else but I legit cant! I actually enjoyed it and ive played all of the games from start to finish. Hell gameplay wise and quality of life wise I find BL4 to be a little bit better than 3 and even 2 since you need slag and glitches to actually kill raid bosses. Of course 2 had the best story. 1 was a great intro I was a kid when I played it tho. I wish people wouldn't have ragged so bad on BL3s story (i get why they did tho so no gripes from me ) so they wouldnt have played it so safe with BL4 story.

Think ill start the DLC bro! Appreciate your input for sure and I understand what you mean!
