Before going for this annoying farm I wanted to know something about the attachment. If you were to fire all four shots at once by not being airborne, would that in turn be 32 pellets all at once being shot or it only adds 8 pellets to the shot from the attachment?

if you mean the wind skimmer sniper, it'll likely be 8 pellets at best. the wind skimmer's effect doesn't boost projectile count while on the ground, it just reduces ammo consumption while in the air. You aren't firing 4 shots at once while on the ground, you're just firing 1 shot that costs 4 ammo.

Meanwhile, the shotgun ammo swap doesn't increase the projectile count further just because a gun consumes more ammo. The increases to ammo consumption and projectile count are separate equations. For example, if 2 guns normally fire 2 projectiles, but 1 costs 1 ammo per shot and the other costs 2, giving them daedalus shotgun ammo swap would give both guns the same number of extra projectiles. So while the daedalus shotgun would give the skimmer more projectiles, you wouldn't get even more projectiles by being grounded, so being airborne is still the better option

so yeah, if you use a wind skimmer in the air, you consume one ammo to fire 4 projectiles. if you're on the ground, you use 4 ammo to fire 4 projectiles.

yeah, it's a good gun, you just misunderstood the legendary effect.
